MDJunction to me

2steveb" In life we all have trials and tribulations to endure weather it be physical, mental or social. For me personally when i encountered MDJunction i was astounded. Since i joined MDJunction to me it has been a god send and a life saver. I have met and been able to converse freely with so many people in the same situation as myself, (that alone is a big help, to know your not alone) to be able to discuss and get good advice from a braud section of people. One of lifes hardest things is to discuss personal issues with friends/family and yet the mdj family is non judgmental and you will be made totally welcome to talk through any issue thats on your mind. There are forums for every known issue to mankind, to me MDJ.com has become my family extension, id be lost without these good people and the extremely good guide lines that group leaders help us all with to keep threads topical and friendly." I was just approved for disability for Lyme Disease.

I had been turned down initially and with appealing it.

My lawyer had just called and told me that since my Lyme Doc refused to write a letter, she did not know that she could win the case since the symptoms are so subjective.

Social Security has a new pilot program to review cases that are up for the Hearing stage. It was this pilot program review of my case that got it approved!

I had TONS of documentation from the beginning.

I used the guidelines on this site for my appeal. My appeal was 25 pages long of typed info!

I see this as a HUGE step forward for the Social Security Disability opinion on Lyme Disease being disabling!

Best of luck to everyone and hang in there! It took 1 1/2 years for me.

I was recently approved too and it's a good feeling (especially when MD's have been telling us for years that we aren't sick!)

Could it be that the government is starting to listen??? We can only hope-

+Thanks guys!

Betty,

My initial application was July 2010. They back-dated it to January 15, 2010.

Of course, the first 5 full months do NOT get paid, but still, it paid all off my outstanding medical debt!

Thank God!!!

Oh goobered, I am SO happy for you!!! I wonder how one gets into that pilot program! I am in the "waiting for hearing" stage of my fight. I got my congressman involved, but apparently too late, because now that it is a legal hearing, he can't really touch it I guess.

Should have gotten him involved before I did the second time around... Live and learn... and then spread the word on how to make it happen for others! Wink

Again, congrats and you give me hope!

Lauren

Was diagnosed with Autonomic Disorder, POTS, Interstitial Cystitis, and Fibromyalgia. True story is I have late stage Lyme which has caused these things. Just began the fight in October 2011 (have been full-blown Lyme since Sept. 5, 2010), and WILL be victorious! Positive bands: IgG 41 and 60; IgM 23 and 41. CDC positive!

Not a doctor, not anyone of any legal standing... just someone on the search.
(Translation: Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. Always see your doctor when needing medical advice.)

Smile Congratulations Goob! What a relief! Having that help should take alot of the burden off and give you more opportunity to rest.

Thanks for the report!

I wish I had solutions for everybody here who is suffering, but I am still hunting for them myself and seem to be more of a student on this board than a teacher. All I have to offer is my experience, support, and prayers based on what I have learned in my recovery. I am not a physician.
