I've been on antibiotics for 1.5 years. As all of us know, these can really destroy the GI tract. I have no doubt I've developed candida, and the spit test confirms this. Over the last 2 years, I went from in very good shape to have a very swollen gut.

I honestly look like I'm pregnant haha. Yet, I've lost 35 pounds I didn't need to lose. Because of this, I've self diagnosed myself with leaky gut syndrome.

I went to a GI and he said I "may" have some yeast overgrowth, and to take a good pro-biotic. So I really got nowhere with him. Frustrating they don't truly believe in it, much like lyme disease.

My llmd was more receptive, and gave me nystatin and diflucan. On top of this, I've been dieting strictly and taking raw garlic and virgin coconut oil as natural anti-fungals. I'm also taking grapefruit seed ext and l-glutamine to repair the gut.

I'm at a point now where 2 months of iv therapy for my lyme and I feel no better. I just don't know if the lyme is improving and my candida symptoms are actually the cause of most of my symptoms: migraines, brain fog, loss of balance, tremors to name a few.

I need to resolve these GI issues immediately, so I can discern just what is going on with my lyme. Despite some reservations, I started threelac. Too many people had good results on it and I was desperate. Also seemed the strain of bacteria in question WAS in fact safe.

Where do I start? Cleanse colon and flush the liver? That is what I"m thinking. I'd really like to avoid the awkwardness of hydrocolon therapy. Is there a home colon cleanse and liver flush you may recommend?

From there I guess I just keep dieting, taking the threelac and natural antifungals. Are there any additional supplements you may recommend? I know this is a long process, but I've been so strict with my diet for so long and have gotten NOWHERE. Just really need to change something up to clear these issues.

Thanks!

Ok. So I see an integrative primary care doc who knows a LOT about the gut.

Here is what I take:

ProbioMax DF by Xymogen

IgG by Xymogen

Sacchromycin by Xymogen

Orthobiotic by Orthomolecular

Probiotic 225 Billion by Orthomolecular

GHI OptiCleanse by Xymogen (has L-Glutamine and tons of other stuff for gut/liver)

I also drink coconut kefir daily. Lots of pre-probiotics in there.

I am on a shit ton of antibiotics. 4 at the moment and will be adding tindamax soon. I will also swap out cefdinir for IM Bicillin.

I do stool tests through Genova every couple months to make sure all is well.

I believe in having a strong gut protocol and liver protocol.

Check out Orthomolecular's website as well as Xymogen. You can order a lot of their stuff on www.pureformulas.com.

I hope this helps. Smile

I don't have any SUPER awesome advice, but I take milk thistle for liver support, and it helped bring down my elevated enzymes - I'm not sure what to do for a liver cleanse, sorry Sad

I also drink aloe juice for my gut - I mix it in with a little cranberry juice (no added sugar!) and I also throw in 2 teaspoons of coconut oil.

I've also heard great things about coffee enemas, but have never tried one.

My gut also became swollen and very painful, so I had to stop the oral abx. Since stopping it has gone down, but is not back to normal. I'm hoping the probiotics and aloe juice help too.

Hopefully you can start IM injections soon to give your gut a break!

Lyme will confuse you. You can treat it forever. The key is to finding out WHAT is causing the symptoms. Lyme might not be the cause of your symptoms, but lyme may have damaged something in your body therefor CAUSING your symptoms.

I.E. Tremors may be caused be magnesium deficiency. Taking megnesium may help with these. You may also have coinfections with lyme since I didnt notice you mention these. These could still be causing symptoms.

The lyme will deplete your body of many essential nutrients and vitamins/minerals, so you will begin having symptoms not actually caused by spirochetes, but by deficiencies in things. Get what im saying? lol

Lyme Igenex Test Results:

Western Blot IgM; Positive; Bands 31 (+), 41 (+),45 (IND), 66 (+)

Western Blot IgG; Positive; Bands 31 (IND), 34 (+), 41 (++), 83 (+)
