Get some rest Bettyg. I think I've been herxing quite a bit since I started my GSE last week along w/ my Doxy. So first time with a "cyst-buster". I feel like someone has taken a baseball bat to my entire body and I just want to lay in bed 24/7. But that's supposed to be a good thing, right?

On my qustion though, this should be public data that "they" can't hide. Say that LD started taking off in the NE in the '70s. Shouldn't there have been corresponding reported rises in Bell's Palsey, Arthritis, Cognitive Loss, Cases of Depression, Anxiety, Fibromyalgia, Head Pain, etc. etc. etc. etc., including a rise in deaths, all across the board that would have been "red flagged" by all the distinct medical fields and the folks who monitor them? This, IMO, would be very strong support in the fight against the IDSA guidelines. Some LLMD folks surely must have researched this, no? Does anybody else on this Support Group know the answer to this riddle? Bettyg, could you perhaps share this question w/ other Group leaders/moderators?

Also, I also ran into another discouraged LD sufferer who unilaterally decided to try animal ant-parasitics. It relieved her symptons w/i one month! This person is a nurse friend of my sister, an RN for 30 years herself. My sister said that there is no real difference btw human and animal anti-Ps. So, in the spirit of being ever vigilent, pro-active and cost conscious, especially in light of Dr. Sapi's cutting edge findings on protozoan and parasite roles in LD, why not try doggie meds?

Stevie - Many of us have & do use animal treatments to help control our parasitic infections.

There is one thing you need to know though, many of us are infected with liver flukes. This parasitic infection is not recognized in the US according to the CDC & there are no OTC or Rxs to treat it. (I know this because I was infested with them & my LLMD told me there was nothing she could do or give me to rid them from my body!!!)

I have found that food grade, H2O2 (watered down to 3%) taken orally will rid you body of Liver Flukes & any other parasite, in 1 quick dose as oppose to multiple treatments of OTC/Pet/Rx treatments.

The sooner you rid your body of the parasites, the less herxing you will experience. I'd rather deal with one dose& get it all over with than deal with days, possible weeks, of herxing due to a parasitic infection. Best wishes!!!

Wow, I'm amazed at how much I'm learning from folks like you on this site, Raven.

H2O2? I have no idea what that is or where to get it but I will find out and take your advice. I also have been concerned about liver flukes. How did you Dx them?

Can you also give me a little bit more info on the H2O2 and how/where to get it? Thanks and Good Luck Raven. CARPE DIEM - Stevie

Liver flukes are generally found in bad water around sheep farms. Infected fish (another reason to NOT eat sushi.) This is common in Asia.

They cause liver problems in some and can be asymtomatic in others. The liver enzymes usually will be off on a blood test. In bad cases, the liver will be enlarged and palpable when it normally isn't. The damage is permanant and can lead to a specific form of cancer in later life.

Praziquantel is the drug of choice I understand and is available in the US as it also treats tapeworms which do occure here.

In the US, most doctors wouldn't know it from a hole in the ground. Parasite infections are considered rare here and not looked for. Military doctors find this infection often with people traveling overseas and check for it. Good luck

Dr. Oz just did a program on parasites in people in the US and how to control them. Top recommendation was 1/4 cup of papaya seeds with one teaspoon of honey daily. Also discussed 2 cloves of garlic a day and wormwood tea. You can probably the program on line.
