MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

Really is it me ??? do I rub doctors the wrong way or something ??? or has every doctor Ive come accross dealing with my Lyme (with the exception of my LLMD) LOST THEIR FRIGGEN MIND !!???

Ive been running a temp and have had diarrhea and now abdominal pain for the last 4 days ..I saw my LLMD yesterday and I told her what was going on ..

Of course at the time I was feeling ok not too bad and thought the worst was over but she told me to call her right away if my symptoms continued ..

So tonight I called her to tell her I had a temp and now there was more pain she instructed me to go to a walk in or ER and see if they would get some testing done stool sample etc..

So I did ..... I went to my local walk in clinic and OMG what A-Holes the doctor came in asked me why I was there then said this .."so let me get this straight your here for abdominal pain fever diarrhea and feeling sick ????

I looked at him like is this a trick question ?? then said yes and the fact my LLMD wanted me to be checked out...

He went of on some rage about LLMDs and then palped my stomach said well I dont think its serious and I could run tests but that would be a bit excessive..

Left the room came back about 10 min later went to shake my hand while I was reaching for my purse I didnt shake his hand because I was grabbing my purse he jerked his hand back made some grunting noise and walked out saying follow up with your primary......

no instructions no medical advice was given no thought as to what was going on NOTHING ....HELL not even take some pepto or something.. I leave confused pissed beyond belief then I read the discharge paper where he had typed some comments about all this stuff he supposedly went over with me

Things like imaging machine tests doctors who deal with stomach issues etc It was a long list of a conversation that we supposedly had and all this info that he supposedly gave me ... I was like HUH ??????? what the hell is this ?????

I told my sister about what happened and she is insisting I call the office and speak to a supervisor !! I told her what the hell good is that gonna do they all work together they wont care or take my side ..

The worst part about this is the walk in is the same building as my primary and she treats me the same way ....

what the heck do I do ???? Im so damn frustrated right now !!!

Thanks for letting me vent ..

Julianna

Call the supervisor of this clinic and if this is a franchise like next care or one of the other common walk in clinics, then call the company complaint center also. Call your insurance, make a complaint with them, and you can refuse to pay the co pay and/or any post visit charges they might bill to you. Your insurance or the company would issue you a refund check for the co pay, it depends on the company.

If you primary care doc treats you like this then get a new one! Ask for your a copy of your file. They may charge you for this, but you have the right to a copy.

You could ask your insurance for a list of primary care doctors who take your insurance and are in your general area.

You don't deserve to be treated like this, none of us do. If you get any hassle write a letter to the department of commerce in your state and cc the doctors office and your insurance company. A real letter not an email.

My insurance company tried to get payment out me two years after the fact for an appointment. I wrote a letter to the state I had lived and never again heard from the insurance company about that issue.

Writing a letter to the department of commerce may not solve your issues immediately, but it will make them aware. I would first write a letter informing the state of the situation, then if needed request them to take action.

Hope this helps.

Just reread your post. I understand they all work together. If the supervisor of the clinic is not willing to smooth things over, then inform her that you will be calling the company complaint center and your insurance.

On another note most of these walk ins are affiliated with one of the local hospitals, sometimes owned by the same parent company. That aspect might take some research. If they are owned or somehow affiliated then call that hospital also.

A whole lot of hassle yes, but better care hopefully is in your future.

this clinic is affiliated with the hospital that I was going to for the beginning of my lyme and they acted like I was a phyc patiant making all this up..

They have a bad reputation and its because they are an awful hospital ...

I cant win because every doctor locally is affiliated with them.

all they have to do is pull my records and form an opinion based on what some scum sucking doctor wrote about me not knowing me at all ..

its like they are all a part of some club and they all have each others backs..

I feel like Im stuck in quite the situation I want to smear his name all over the place but I would be the one getting in trouble not him ...

I will try with a phone call tomorrow and see where that gets me .

.But he knows my primary and they work in the same building

Im sure the two of them had a little discussion before he came back to shake my hand

she doesnt believe I have Lyme because I only tested on two bands and she thinks I have fibro and post Lyme ..

So we have been butting heads all this time

she doesnt like that I go to a LLMD and feels that being on treatment for Lyme as long as I have is ridiculous ....

I always feel like Im being ganged up on and what I tell one doctor is sure to make it back to another doctor ..

Thank you Rowergirl ..

Hi lulubug,

First off, let me say, you sound miserable! I'm so sorry that your poor gut is in this bad of shape.

Second, as rowergirl said, the way the urgent care doc acted was unacceptable. Very good advice in her posts.

Third, ARE YOU ON ANTIBIOTICS? For how long? have you been near animals or in a hospital?

If so, one reason to go to the ER/Urgent care would be to get tested for c.difficile, an intestinal infection, which can crop up when the good flora in your gut are wiped out or diminished (as in when you are on antibiotics).

If it is c diff, it can make you pretty sick, especially if you get dehydrated. Symptoms are abdominal cramps, fever, diarrhea. here's a link:

http://www.medicinenet.com/clostridium_difficile_colitis/ article.htm

I urge you to go either to the ER (or a different urgent care) and insist on some stool sample tests. Then they will be able to identify if you have an active infection and get you the treatment you need.

Until then, please do your best to stay hydrated. Keep in mind, there may be something else going on, but this is definitely something that needs to be either rule dout or addressed.

I hope you feel better soon!

Hi Iron will.... yes I believe thats what my Lyme doc was worried about she wanted me to go there tonight to get a stool sample but the doctor said any tests would be a bit excessive and that he didnt feel i needed them so none were done ..the Lyme doctor was concerned because thw diarrhea was all water no substance and that wasnt a good sign ..

when I told the clinic doctor what she said he said there is no difference water or not diarrhea is diarrhea..

also I was on doxi 5 months and just ended one month of biaxin and just picked up a scrpit for more doxi today

How far is the next hospital or walk in clinc that is not affiliated with this group?

Are their private physicians offices in your town?

You need to get away from this bunch, sadly that may require more driving and effort on your part.

lulu, ER DUCKS! totally worthless alright.

rowergirl/laura and irenwill gave you great advise.

you said you were going to CALL; follow that up with a WRITTEN SNAIL MAIL to them documenting your er experience and your phone call.

document who you talked to, time, exactly what was said; TYPE IT UP UNLESS YOU ARE A SLOW TYPER; that scares the heck out ofthem hearing the keyboard!!

DEFINITELY find new primary dr. I'D GET COPIES OF ALL YOUR FILE RECORDS THERE; then you have the right to DISAGREE with any/all copies and point out specifically what is WRONG AND WHY!

then later if your files from them are requested, they are REQUIRED BY LAW to send a copy of your COMMENTS ON THEIR ERRORS!

my heart goes out to you for all the injustices done to you last night!
