My local doc is the one who is diagnosing all the lymies in my area that I've met so far. She wanted me to test my CD57 and results are here.

What does a low number mean in lay person terms?

Labcorps HNK1 (CD57) Panel

%CD8-/CD57+ Lymphs = 2 (In range, Expected 2-17)

Abs.CD8-CD57+ Lymphs = 32 (Out of range, Expected 60-360)

BUN = 27 (Out of range, Expected 6-24)

BUN/Creatinine Ration = 27 (Out of range, Expected 9-23)

Calcium, Serum = 8.4 (Out of range, Expected 8.7-10.2)

Adosterone = 35.8 (Out of range, Expected 0-30)

Vitamin D - 25 Hydroxy = 28.9 (Out of range, Expected 30-100)

oh Glithcy... It looks like when you're supposed to be up, you're down, and vice versa! Tongue

I don't know what they all mean, but did she give you a course of action to correct any? My Lyme doc has me on 10,000 iu of Vit D daily as my D levels were at a 31.

I don't know what else to say. How are you feeling?

Was diagnosed with Autonomic Disorder, POTS, Interstitial Cystitis, and Fibromyalgia. True story is I have late stage Lyme which has caused these things. Just began the fight in October 2011 (have been full-blown Lyme since Sept. 5, 2010), and WILL be victorious! Positive bands: IgG 41 and 60; IgM 23 and 41. CDC positive!

Not a doctor, not anyone of any legal standing... just someone on the search.

I was told a low number of NK cells/CD57 is a sign of late stage lyme.

Also, my LLMD said it's not safe to go off treatment without risk of a relapse until the number is about 200 even if your symptoms are gone before your number goes up.

Mangorose, I think this is saying my CD 57 is 32.

Wisc, I had been recently increased to 10,000 iU per day trying to get my D up to 80+. Currently taking Biotics Bio-D-Mulsion Forte, but I may switch if I don't see movement upward.

This testing was ordered by my regular doc, not my LLMD. I've known about the Vitamin D deficiency for over a year.

My LLMD upped my daily dose, so I asked my regular doc to test and get a baseline number so I can see how the new dose affects it.

32 is very low, my LLMD said that anything under 60 is pretty serious. Mine was also under 20. I'm hoping it won't take too long to raise it.

Some people never get a low CD57 even though they have lyme. I have read that some of the co-infections can raise it.

What is it saying about the immune system or whatever it is measuring? And it's supposed to increase how?

supposedly the less of a bacterial load you have the less it's killing your natural killer cells (CD57) so they can multiply to where they should be.

As far as the immune system I'm not sure why us lymies immune systems get so bad to the point where our CD57 is so deadly low. It's scary and I wish I knew what to do to help my body along.
