MDJunction to me

cinderella"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

@tizmo my understanding is that Plaquenil is a weak cyst buster.

I have been on it and I did not find it that powerful. It is good to have

in the system (I am not saying you should quite it) just in case but

I am not sure how effective it is.

I would bet my last last $ in my bank account that you need flagyl

or tindamax. I dont know anything about Cefdinir.

So according to your website Mitchell, I should be at 1500mg of Biaxin, not just 1000mg? My LLMD is probably under treating my disease. I do have Zithromax still, I only used it at 500mg once daily for 2 weeks then he switched me, but I think I might go back because I think it was stronger than the Biaxin.

~~~Hello tizmo,
~ "So according to your website Mitchell, I should be at 1500mg of Biaxin, not just 1000mg?" ~
Yes, but ~
"My LLMD is probably under treating my disease. I do have Zithromax still, I only used it at 500mg once daily for 2 weeks then he switched me, but I think I might go back because I think it was stronger than the Biaxin."
~ Yes, from http://www.anapsid.org/lyme/matthewgoss/drugs.html
"Biaxin is a member of the same family as Zithromax.
Zithromax is the more advanced drug. Take it on an empty stomach for full potency.
Zithromax will stay in your body for 68 hours, so this drug may be prescribed to be taken every other day.
Some people are reporting great success in combining this drug with Plaquenil and Amoxicillin for treatment of Lyme."
Benniferobin,
Have you heard of Life Vessel? Google it! It helps balance the Autonomic Nerveous System so that your body will heal itself from Lyme or other conditions! My daughters are scheduled to use it starting Feb 20th. It's not cheap, but I think the best thing I've heard of to help us! No toxic drugs. No piles of supplements.
Keep hope!Smile
Hi tizmo -
This is a good discussion, and good references to take to your doctor.
I do find myself wondering sometimes if I am treating aggressively enough, and then WHAM! major herx.
We all want to be well so, so badly. Me too!
There are days when I find myself combining through articles and books trying to figure out if I'm on the right protocol, but frankly, it drives me crazy. So I do purposefully step away and do something else.
I very much sympathize with you - and bennifer, you too! this disease affects and sometimes rules every aspect of my life now. I look forward to the day when we can all walk straight, tall, and pain free, and take our lives back Smile
I am not a doctor, just a patient striving for recovery and hoping to offer support to others, too! Many blessings to you!
Thank you everyone for your responses. benniferobin since you and I are so early in hardcore lyme treatment, maybe we just have a long ways to go.
My husband probably thinks I'm nuts some days because I cry a lot, but my chiropractor reassures me that being over emotional is a brain dysfunction that comes with the damage in the brain from the lyme.
I've been on a combination of antibiotics for 2 months and the Byron White A-L Complex and I really thought I would see some sort of progress but maybe this thing is really just that slow.
I just turned 28 and my goal is to be cured by my 30th birthday. That gives me 2 years to really kick butt. I hope 2 years is not too unrealistic.
Hi Tizmo,
I am nearly one year into treatment - My first 8 weeks I took Doxy/Zithromax and since then have taken Minocycline/Biaxin.
My doses have been titrated down as I herxed so badly I landed on IV hydration and pain injections more than once. Everyone has their own threshold for levels of dosing - mine ended up being lower than I had expected.
I also take a lot of supplments, probiotics, clean diet, detoxing, etc...
I recall feeling exaclty as you do now - wondering when, if ever, I would feel any better - it kept feeling as though I was getting worse and worse... very discouraging. But now - I am noticably better Smile YAY! Still not in remission but much better than I had been Smile
It's a marathon not a race with Lyme - it takes time. PLEASE stick with it! It's worth it - I am finally having a lot more good days than bad ones and am thrilled to be getting better.
Lyme is a process - it takes time and commitment and acceptance. Somewhere along the line I learned to accept that Lyme wasn't going to be "cured" on my timetable (so that I could jump right back into the high speed life I had before-Lyme) ...
I started giving myself permission to rest and go at my new pace...and tried to surround myself with postiive people, fun, comedy on TV, DVDs, (nothing negative) and never gave up! (None of my friends on this site would let me give up - and we won't let ou give up either Smile )
Sorry for rambling - it just really touched my heart and hit so close to home when I read your post and wanted to share my experince so far on this Lyme journey...
Keep the hope and the faith and be good to yourself!
We are all here for you - I know you will be well Smile
Hugs,
JJ
JJ351 thank you so much for the support. I will keep fighting, I just need encouragement from time to time, especially when I feel like I'm getting no where. Thanks again.
