Its been a long road. Treated aggressively for a while, and my really bad symptoms have left, but I need to address any other infections I may have besides bacteria. Based on these symptoms does it sound like any co-infection(s) to you?

The symptoms I am left with are:

facial flushing/easily warm/ ears feel hot

heightened sensitivity to scent

half my face feels numb (only half at a time)

half my arm feels cold and tingling (only half at a time)

daily headaches (5 out of 10 in terms of pain)

very sore neck, hurts to touch chin to chest

painful and sore shoulders, muscles feel sore

painful costocondritis, in chest and ribs

constant sinus and forehead, throat pain and pressure

Mostly though, it is the neuro stuff that still gets to me. It has always been bad Neuro wise.

I am waiting for PCR blood work to come back soon (but negatives can still be positive). I have a great LLMD who can help, but I wanted to hear from you all- what you connect these symptoms with. A lot of the time it is the patients that can make some of the small connections like this really make sense.

I am SO much much better after doing 11 months of ABX. I was a mess until a year ago. thank you all!

Smile

My non-medical, just a mom who's watched her kid suffer for the 2 1/2 years, guess - you were not completely treated and now have presistent recurring Borrelia infection that sounds like it's entrenched into nerve tissues. Maybe also Bartonella (headache). Do your ribs look normal? especailly where they connect to other bones?

If you had Babesia I would have expected to hear you say night sweats that interrupt sleep, sweating odd times, air hungar, can't get warm (even when it's really hot and everyone else is miserably hot).

I'm not sure what kinds of sx the other co-infections might have. Mycoplasm can make a really nasty pneumonia. Not sure what Rickettsia infection would do.

Do you have Dr. Burrascano's 16th edition "Advanced Topcis in Lyme Disease"?

What??

another question: are your serum lab values normal? including enyzmes, liver function, kidney function, thyroid, parathyroid.
What??

I did used to have night sweats. Not horrible ones, but still would dampen my hair a bit. That seemed to pass once I started on thyroid medication. A few months ago I got a Hashimotos dx which helped with sweating, swollen face, and puffy looking eyes.

Mostly it is neuro now, and some flushing/my face feels hot.

How is your daughter doing?

Your symptoms are my beginning treatment symptoms! Your lyme seems to have been more advanced and in my opinion you are not anywhere close to being finished with treatment. Candida plays a big co-infection role in the flushing type stuff. I am not a physician but I would quickly return to return to treatment and wait for all of this stuff to subside.

You think it is advanced? I thought so too in the beginning. It was so severe, if you look at my profile, it lists all the symptoms I had which were a nightmare!

I am going to start back on treatment soon, I know I can't ignore it anymore.

I also know I need some diflucan soon too!

It sounds like really nasty endocrine issues (2nd. Hypothyroid with hypopituitary), Peripheral Neuropathy (possible type 2 diabetes & Candida), Bell's Palsy (LD &/or HHV-6), Mycoplasma & Bart.

Just my opinion.... =0}

I have all your symptoms and I have Lyme, Mycoplasma, and yeast. I have had a hell of a time with this disease. Mostly with neuro symptoms. I'm still trying to find the right combination that will do anything for me.

Hi all,

Thank you all for every bit of advice you give!

What kind of mycoplasma? I know there are several kinds ( I was just tested for walking pnemonia) will find out the results soon I hope.

As for thyroid- yep I have Hashimotos, although I have been treating it for 4 months it should be resolved by now? All my titers have come down to a resonable level.

Raven- why Bart? I read some from Dr. Burrascano that suggested Bart too, I hope the two PCRs I had done will reveal something.

Tizmo- How are you coping? I was much much worse, I was in a very sick state but have somewhat recovered. Within the next week I know I need some diflucan (had a low grade yeast infection for two months) and some abx. I held out for as long as I could for these tests as I was told I needed to be abx free for 2-4 weeks.

Betty- I will have to check that out!
