I want to start my Artemisinin this weekend.

I am currently on 400mg of Doxy daily.

Been treating for over 1yr with LLMD.

Been on different conventional abx.

No support from my LLMD with naturals.

I need help with dosing and duration. I have read too many different things re: Art dosing and everytime I try to add naturals on my own w/o Dr support, I get so confused.

Mine are 100mg capsules.

I would like to hear what your Dr's prescribed.

Your dr. doesn't answer q's about the arteminisin? Various dr's pulse it different ways and use different brands etc... Mine has me on Dr. Zhang arteminisin annua (I think...) and I take 350mg capsules 3x/day for 10 days each month, but that is just what my LLMD is having me do, I know others do it differently...

So each capsule is 350mg for a total of 1050mg a day?

10 consectutive days a month, then 20 days off?

No my LLMD does not support naturals. I have not really found a ND here in MI with Lyme experience.

yeah that is what he has me doing. I just started last week. I have read other people do smaller amounts for different days of pulsing like 3 days on, 4 days off, etc... I am not sure if there is a 'right' way to do it?

I have read so many different ways with this one.

It is so confusing when trying to add naturals w/o Dr. support.

He is OK with his patients taking naturals, he just wants to be informed with what we are taking. He gives no advice though.

I was surprised when my dr. wanted me on artiminisin because everything else so far has been prescription abx, but I'm all for herbals.

Hi Lymeinmich,

After 10 months of treatment on 2 dif regimens my llnp recommended I add artiminisin:

First 2 months of treamtnet: Doxy, Zithro (azithromycin) with various naturals and supplements (herxed like crazy and had a very rough time!!)

Months 3-10: Mino/Biaxxin and various supplements, naturals, and IV b-complex/mag

Month 11 onwards: in months 11 now and have been told to add artiminisin 3 weeks on/1 week ogg. Brand is Researched Nutritionals.

Hope htis helps

Hugs,

JJ

One more thing - was told by llnp to take artiminisin away from iron and calcium so I time it a good 3 hours apart from my supplements...

Have found this a bit challenging but learning how to re-adjust my meds/supps/meals schedule to accomodate...

lymeinmich,

There are so many different ways this is prescribed...I only took it for a short period of time- but the directions from my LLNP were: 4 capsules (100 mg) twice daily for 4 days and then 10 days off...

I think he liked to hit it harder for short periods of time...but I do recommend doing what you can do- I did herx from this.

Hugs,

Jackie

I'm taking the Allergy Research artemisinin- 2 200mg tabs 3 times a day, 5 days on, 2 days off. Definitely feel the herxing, but is getting much more mild as I go along.

Cheers- Pete
