Hello all,

I was wondering....can a person's immune system fight off Lyme on it's own like it does with some other bacteria?

thanks

Frank

IMHO.... I thinks so. I believe people with healthy immune systems can fight of certain "VIRAL & BACTERIAL" infections.

Reason being, Bb is a spirochete just like syphilis or TB. When my GM was born in 1916 she had 4 siblings. One of her brothers got TB & passed away. My GM had always shown up as a TB carrier but never developed the infection. She lived for 96 years.

Maybe not the people who have been bitten by ticks but the one's who get Bb by others means, I think there are many out there that are carries & just don't know it.

Hi Frank-

When your immune system is working correctly you can fight off anything..so yes, it can fight off lyme.

peace-kim

All of my advice comes from research and personal experience. I strongly suggest that you each check with your doctor for approval before changing or adding anything to your treatment.

Peace . . . starts within each one of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighboring communities, and so on. When we feel love and kindness towards others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace. And there are ways in which we can consciously work to develop feelings of love and kindness. For some of us, the most effective way to do so is through religious practice. For others it may be non-religious practices. What is important is that we each make a sincere effort to take our responsibility for each other and for the natural environment we live in seriously.

On its own the immune system cannot fight off the Lyme. I mean if it could, I don't think this group would exist.

Like the flu, we would have our few days of ailing and then we'd carry on with life.

Kim is right though. If the immune system is working correctly and is given the proper tools, it can really fight off anything.

The thing with Lyme is that it creates a dysfunctional immune system in our bodies.

For example, according to Dr Mercola, the spirochetes drill themselves into our white blood cell, which inhibits them from producing antibodies.

White blood cells and the production of antibodies are a function of the immune system and the Lyme bacteria can surely cause this required process to battle an invader to malfunction.

You also have to consider that even though the immune system may be working properly by strolling through our bodies looking for invaders to destroy, the invader itself may be more evolved.

In the case of the Lyme bacteria, it can hide itself in a cyst form and also create a biofilm shield around itself to make it undetectable to the immune system and antibiotics

This has nothing to do with immune system function but everything with the evolution of the spirochetes.

This is why intervention is required. Antibiotics will wear off until the next dose but the immune system will forever stay the course of protection.

Sometimes it just needs a little help!

Frank this an awesome question, and a good one for victims to try and answer vs. get a Doctors opinion.

If you are talkin' about JUST Lyme..I agree, yes it can. Why did I have probelms in the Lyme deparartment?

Well, I was one of those guys that did NOT respect my body..I fed is more crap than I ever want to admit...

I needed help, my immune needed help to fight these buggers.....

Umm, now On the topic of Bartonella.....well...this damn thing..is..one

agressive SOB...I've got my immunne...my habits..etc..clean for over 3 yrs and...well......Bart is still a problem to put it nicely..

There are just so many factors...to your question........

But I say one thing....do everything you can....diet, health, excersice, and that whole list............

See where that would bring the question.....

Best to you and all,

WLk=Cool

Anything I post or respond to comes from a Lyme and Bart victim himself. I am NOT a doctor. I do my own research for ME...I may share my findings and will post them. They are for general talk and vent...If a group leader feels the info is worth saving somewhere, they are more than welcome to do with it as they like. Wlk=)

For myself I was bit by a tick 16 months before getting sick from Lyme, I had no idea that was a tick I pulled off myself that day in the shower, the whole thing happened so quick. Pulled something off myself, thought that kind of looks like a bug. Then poof down the drain. My immune system fought Lyme that entire time.

I think it is a combination of things that lead to Lyme Disease, we found a large colony of mold in our house a few months back, I believe that the mold suppressed my immune system, then the Lyme took over.

I don't think it's just Lyme that is the culprit, If you have the HLA DR test you might find out that you can't detox one or the other or both, I think it is our genetics that determine who will get sick form this stuff. It you can't detox mold or Lyme that will determine if you get sick from these things. The toxins are what suppresses our immune systems.

My two cents.

I think if it was JUST lyme (Bb) .... then maybe the immune system could handle it.

But with all the TBDs & viruses that one tick can carry - the immune system is overwhelmed. So it is hit with more than just Bb, and can't fight it off.

Also, most people have other things going on - yeast, viruses, thyroid, etc that their immune systems are already busy. Add lyme to that, and no... the immune system can't do it alone.

I know our bodies have wonderful healing capabilities.... but lyme is a tricky and smart bacteria.

Weasy is right, imo -- if our immune systems could fight it off alone - this group would not exist.

if we are totally free of bacteria, parasites, viruses......

YES our immune sysmtem could irradicate but unforutantely, with all of the colds we had over the years, bacterial infections, fish we may have eaten filled with parasites.....there is no way in hell NOW that our immune system could possible take care of this disease.

just know that our gut is 70% of our immune symstem.....so take care of the gut, take probiotics!
