MDJunction to me

jaguarandcubs"MDJ is an integral part of my everyday life. Since joining in 2010, I have met so many amazing people. It is truly incredible to be able to share good times and not so good times with others who face the same health challenges. And MDJ has support groups for every condition I have. I don't know of anywhere else that can offer that. I love that I can learn from others as well as offer my own experiences for others to learn from." (jaguarandcubs)

Hi All,

I wanted to put this post up for those who are new in their illness. I wish I knew these things a couple years ago, but learned a lot of it through experience. (I am also very stubborn!) Here is what I have learned (it is not all about the bacteria):

1) Tackle the vitamin/mineral deficiencies. Look at Iron, ferritin levels, B12, Vitamin D. Also focus on the fatty oils and fish oils and other potential supplements.

2) Avoid inflammatory foods (gluten, sugar, dairy).

3)Research other causes. I now have an auto-immune disorder. Read up on them, as Lyme can cause them. Or you may not have Lyme. Research the ones you could be likely to develop and learn what the tests are for them. Many of them are found via blood.

4)Look into the possibility of a virus.

5) Take a drug holiday if possible to see where your immune system is at.

6) Keep an eye on your thyroid and Gallbladder.

7) Avoid things/places that trigger your allergies.

There was a point in which I was not treating my Vit D, Ferritin, or B12 definiceny. I ate gluten, aspartame & sugar. I also chalked up all my symptoms to Lyme when they can be from other causes. Good Luck & Be Well
