Hi all,

Just wondering if there were any recipes I need to try out there.

Been going the gluten free/sugar free (ok, I splurged a little on Thanksgiving, but paid for it...) route but am having difficult making a eating/supplement/abx/everything plan.

I'm supposed to take some supplements with food, but can't drink too much water b/c then I won't digest properly.

Just looking for some suggestions/tips as the past few days I have been struggling with and getting sick of eggs, quinoa, brussel sprouts.

At least I'm eating super healthy right?? Uy. i miss pizza.

Thanks in advance...

M

Hi Mari-

Here's a link to the restrictive diet I got from my llmd..

http://www.mdjunction.com/forums/lyme-disease-support- forums/medicine-treatments/3186057-restrictive-diet-for- candidaparasitesbacteriavi

You can pick and choose things on the allowed list and mix them up..

I have never felt like I was deprived on it, and actually feel much healthier eating this way..I hope this helps.

There's also a link for recipes on here in the Tips forum..if you can't find it, let me know, and I will get it for you.

Blessings Mari..

All of my advice comes from research and personal experience. I strongly suggest that you each check with your doctor for approval before changing or adding anything to your treatment.

Peace . . . starts within each one of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighboring communities, and so on. When we feel love and kindness towards others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace. And there are ways in which we can consciously work to develop feelings of love and kindness. For some of us, the most effective way to do so is through religious practice. For others it may be non-religious practices. What is important is that we each make a sincere effort to take our responsibility for each other and for the natural environment we live in seriously.

Look up recipes for cauliflower pizza crust. You'll be amazed.

There are gluten-free pastas.

Whats wrong with chicken, turkey, some fishes?

Just eating eggs is going to leave you missing out on alot of nutrients. Especially with the cage-raised chickens used for producing eggs - seriously lacking in nutrients.

Red beans, garbanzos, black beans, etc are going to be good protein and nutrition sources.

I was definitely being over dramatic on the limits of the recent new diet changes I tried to make. Eating my salads, lean proteins and some red meat when the turkey and chicken have done me in.

Thanks for the info!!

Hi there,

I've been on a restricted diet for years... even before Lyme diagnosis. Due to food allergies and Celiac..... Lots of off limit foods.

It took me about a year of experimenting to get the hang of altering recipes, but now I'm pretty good at it!

I made an allergy friendly pumpkin pie this year that tasted wonderful. I make great allergy friendly cupcakes for birthdays that even non-restricted eaters love.

As for dinners and other meals - I've learned what is a good substitute for things. I can't have tomatoes, but butternut squash is a wonderful stand in... I have a hard time eating meat, so exchange a lot of animal proteins for beans and legumes.

I made my own allergy friendly butternut squash ravioli this year... it wasn't as hard as I thought and really yummy!

Just have to experiment... The restrictions were really daunting at first but now I have fun with experimenting in the kitchen... Oh and you can make great allergy friendly pizzas (even without cheese if you are nondairy)!

I posted a question a while back that was similar to this and the topic went astray over a cake recipe.

I think most of us are looking for a meal plan or menu. I paid a doctor to help with this and I got a list of do's and don't. People who are new to these types of diets need an easy guide of what's okay for breakfast, lunch, and diner.

This is a difficult adjustment learning to cook with different flours takes time, learning to live without normal sandwiches isn't easy. And what does not contain sugar?

A couple of weeks worth of meals would help people get started until they can study and find their our meal plans.

I will take the lead here and start with breakfast:

I eat a raw version of oatmeal

1 banana (pealed and chopped), 1 apple(pealed and chopped) 2 tablespoons of soaked flaxseed (sometimes I add other fruits.

add all items into a blender and blend until all fruit is pureed. add cinnamon an or vanilla to taste.

Lunch

Salad with chicken

Diner

Balsamic chicken and wilted greens (a Publix Recipe www.publix.com)

Please share a day in your eating with us.
