It really appears as if I've aged quite a bit since becoming infected in June. I saw a photo of myself a few days ago and I thought "Whoa". Has anyone else experienced this this?

I have. saw a recent pic of me and thought "what the hell happened??" my hair is starting to get better, was straw and falling out, my skin still looks grayish. I feel like I've aged 10+ yrs in the last 2 yrs.

I hope it gets better as I get better.

I hear you. At the age of 28 I found gray hair. GRAY HAIR!!!!. Umm is that related to lyme?

Alanis Morset come to mind right know.

I'm sick but I'm pretty baby.

Somehow it makes me feel better.

I'm 27 and am noticing increased wrinkle lines since getting really ill and I've heard this is a symptom of lyme. If I don't get better soon I'll look old in no time.

No offense y'all... but all of this starts to happen to most people around their mid-twenties. Wink

Anyone that spends any time in the sun will atleast begin to get crows feet in their mid-20s. Laugh lines, frown lines. Mini-lines everywhere. Skin will start losing elasticity. cellulite, saggy skin.

Dont just lump it all into Lyme Wink Chances are, it might have caused some of it - stress, nutrient deficiency, lack of physical activity, etc, will obviously play a big part in aging - so do your best to minimize those.

Hi, you have hit a pet peeve with me. I have heard lyme patints complain they don't look sick so therefore people assume they are ok. Everyone who knows me can tell when I am sick when they see me. I have cognitive problems and I can not remember specifics. to give you as examples exhaustion is one eyes are another and that's all i can remember, I would love to look ok.

But I have had this for a long time 1996 for absolute sure but isuspect 1992-1924 and then kicked it never thought of it again until 1996 when I fell very ill with what i thought was spider bites which was really multiple em's/ I hate looking like crap.

I look sick 98% of the time. The other 2% people don't see how long it took me or how painful it was to blowdry my hair and style it.

They don't see the numerous breaks I have to take to even get to looking like "me" again.

We all have varying levels of sickness with this. I've been bedridden most of my days for the past 2 years, it's gotten really bad.

However, the last FIVE DAYS IN A ROW I have had the shackles and chains of the horrible pain leave my body. Hard to get too excited...hard to not. I can't believe after two years in complete hell, I may be seeing some light.

Lyme is a tricky one though, I know it can all be gone tomorrow when I awake and struggle to move my body.

For today, and the last FIVE days. I'm grateful.

KEEP FIGHTING!!!!! KEEP FIGHTING!!!! Don't give up!!! Much love...J

Sad Well, without my makeup and close up, I look alot older than I am.

Yesterday at a museum, I was offered the senior admission price. And one time someone asked if my Mom and I were sisters.

This disease has definately aged me. But so has having a hysterectomy.

But at the same time, along the lines of what someone else just said here, my illness is just not visible, and people think I somehow look fine.

I guess the main problem is lack of decent sleep. We could probably all use it!

Nank, dont let the premature aging thing get you down. You are definately not alone in this.

I wish I had solutions for everybody here who is suffering, but I am still hunting for them myself and seem to be more of a student on this board than a teacher. All I have to offer is my experience, support, and prayers based on what I have learned in my recovery. I am not a physician.
