Julie,

I'm obviously still confused at how this site works, therefore, my questions on how to transfer my diatribe/history to just my profile is that is something that is possible?

I just read your story...how I missed it before in digging around trying to figure this whole thing out, is beyond me, and am so sorry that you have had such an extremely horrible case of this nasty disease...out cold for 8 days? That is terrifying! I must say that would have definitely been motivation for me to go to a doctor too! This is such a strange disease...such a wide range of symptoms. I find myself wondering if where one gets bit has any effect on what symptoms, how fast, etc one gets? I have read that the life stage of the tick also seems to have a major effect on the whole process. In my case I never actually saw a tick but from what I've learned of the life cycle of the tick, it must have been in possibly the second stage where it is the size of a period at the end of a sentence. Back in '05 when my son went to Iraq I put on three of those silicone bracelets, 'peace, support our troops, etc' and planned to take them off if and when he came back home alive and well. Unfortunately, I went from that plan to deciding to wear them until everyone's kid gets back home...I could be buried with these things still on my arm. Anyway, I wear my watch loosely above the bracelets so I'm pretty sure the nasty little dot somehow managed to sneak under there for at least long enough to take a bite. Come to think of it the original bite looked a bit like a mosquito bite with a tiny black dot in the middle before it grew into what looked more like a strange elongated poison ivy like thing. And it itched so of course I scratched and perhaps removed the dot that way? My family and I (since it was summer various kids were home at various times during the early stretch) did wonder if indeed it was poison ivy and if it was why it didn't spread which in fact eventually a very small similar patch showed up on my right knee but didn't last as long...weird...the whole thing is weird. What I don't understand is how I lived in WI for my first 3 dozen years, including spending an inordinate amount of time hanging out in woods, and didn't get bit? I've tried to find information on research concerning people who get LD more than once...is it a reactivation like my bouts of EBV (I actually lived in the woods back when that first case developed...hmmm.

Anyway, I think I'm off track here. Just wanted to ask the question about transfering the basic boring tale to my profile if that is how it is done as well as let you know you have my true sympathy with what you are suffering with especially with allergies to the basic antibiotics YIKES! I've been taking acidophilus along with the amoxicillan and have been incredibly relieved to not have any reaction to it after the bizarre effects I had from the NSAID's Mobic and DayPro...ugly stuff.

I'm also so sorry to hear about your mom...how old is she? Does she live with you? I can't even begin to imagine how you keep going, taking care of her and working too.

Sending positive thoughts your way!

Yvonne

HI:

Moving around here is pretty easy. Just go to YOUR profile and post your story. Try and make it short (not to long) us with Lyme have a hard time reading long posts...lol

You have been through a lot, I'm sorry....Dealing with lyme is hard enough if you ask me.

My mom is 74, a great mom, its very hard watching her die each day in front of me, but she keeps me going, she is my rock. I have no idea what i will do when the day comes and she is gone. I'm just happy that she was at my wedding, we had alot of fun planning it until I got sick. I got sick July 22 and was getting married 9-15.

Thank you for the positive thoughts DITTO...You will get better, you can get this to go into remission with a lot of hard work on your part and the doctors.

I just called Marshfield, yes very nice, my doctor has to call to get me in, no problem with that one...I will make the drive, Jim and I will enjoy it...

Ok, time to make dinner for me and mom. FEEL better, and you will

Julie

Thanks for the helpful info! I'm glad you got right in at Marshfield and do hope they are as helpful for you as they have been for me!

I'm so sorry to hear your mother is suffering from a fatal disease at such a young age (yes I think 74 is way too young to me near the end of life). I am glad that she was there to plan and share in your wedding, something that you will always have to treasure in your heart.

I'll be looking forward to hearing how your trip to Marshfield goes...I'm hoping for GREAT! Gunderson Clinic in La Crosse was the other one the WI Dept of Health mentioned and they are the ones who were all about the tests although they supposedly have a infectious disease department that has done a lot of research on LD. I just wasn't up for wasting more time on 'the test says NO' which definitely weighed heavier on Marshfield's side...their extremely kind and understand phone people also was a real plus for me.

All the best

Yvonne

Hi Yvonne:

not sure when I will be going hopefully next month sometime. I will also check out that other place.

Have you tried detox baths yet? Epson salt and warm water in the bath tub really helps me a lot, I take two a day...

Also I'm going to try the "NAtural" route with my cipro, he will treat me as long as I'm not on any abx, which at the moment I"m not due to my reactions to abx's...So its worth a try.

Lyme will not win, we will and we WILL…
