MDJunction to me

2steveb" In life we all have trials and tribulations to endure weather it be physical, mental or social. For me personally when i encountered MDJunction i was astounded. Since i joined MDJunction to me it has been a god send and a life saver. I have met and been able to converse freely with so many people in the same situation as myself, (that alone is a big help, to know your not alone) to be able to discuss and get good advice from a braud section of people. One of lifes hardest things is to discuss personal issues with friends/family and yet the mdj family is non judgmental and you will be made totally welcome to talk through any issue thats on your mind. There are forums for every known issue to mankind, to me MDJ.com has become my family extension, id be lost without these good people and the extremely good guide lines that group leaders help us all with to keep threads topical and friendly." I tested positive in one band on a western blot in March and was told that means the test is negative. But, symptom wise I feel terrible. Now I tested positive with a new infectious disease doc on these bands...

LYME M WB IgM 41kd and 23kd

LYME G WB IgG 41kd and 30kd

He said that means i am negative but with more bands than last time he wants me on Doxy... I want another opinion and need a doc suggestion in NJ.

THANKS

Kaern

You are dealing with doctors that adhere to CDC/IDSA standards for Lyme. Very short and simply: THEY ARE WRONG.

A single band means you are POSITIVE. Symptoms alone can make you positive because western blots are an incredibly inaccurate way to diagnose Lyme. Even CDC standard, as misleading and incorrect as it is, clearly states a western blot is NOT a means for diagnosis and that LYME IS A CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS.

Post your basic info on the LLMD Request Forum - someone will set you up with a list of Lyme Literate MDs in your area. Last I checked, the list was ILADS approved (the group that has the most up to date and advanced methods and research on Lyme and its many co-infections).

Hi kmasters, and welcome!

As equestrian said, you are positive. I hope you have good luck finding a doc to treat you.

So sorry for how terrible you are feeling. Know that it will get better, with treatment. Improvement doesn't come quickly.

We're in it for the long haul.

I am not a doctor, just a patient striving for recovery and hoping to offer support to others, too! Many blessings to you!

Any information offered is just sharing my experience and friendly advice, NOT a prescription. You should use your own judgment and discretion when making health care decisions.
