MDJunction to me

aTinaL"To me, Mdjunction comes down to motivation. The support and information I have found here motivated me to take a very proactive stance regarding my illness. This led me to find medication and doctors that are giving me my life back.
More important than even the motivation, though, is the friendship I have found at MDJ. I have made some of the best friends of my entire life right here in this group. Even though most of us have never met, it feels as if we have known each other for years.
If Angels walk among us, and I believe that they do, most of them are here at MDJ.

I have been on bactrim now for 4 months and I still feel like I have been hit by a truck and the depression comes an knocks me over even harder.

Is it too soon to expect to feel even just a tad better after 4 mo?

I don't know what are logical expectations.

My lyme dr is going slow for me because my body is not detoxing. He is in NJ an i trust him.

The other drs that are handling my supplementation are in chicago and I feel like I am being a pain in the but because I keep emailing them w questions or when something wrong comes up.

It is hard to work w drs by email but what else am I suppose to do? I cant keep flying there.

Needless to say i am down. It is hard to see the rest of the world smiling when I am so sad inside. I wish this was over already.

I am sorry you are not feeling well yet. I can totally relate to your feelings about your doctors who are not close and you don't feel like you have quite the support you need. I have not taken bactrim yet so I can't compare my experience to that.

Many times I have felt like there was no hope and things were not going to get any better. But I am finally feeling a lot better than I was. I had some really good gains after 6 months and then now at 1 year, I feel so much better. I feel happy for the first time in a long time and my brain feels good a lot.

I hope you start to feel better soon and I hope you get some other better comparisons from people who may be taking the same medicaitons. I took doxycycline as one of my meds and it kicked me down for months. But then I came out the other side much better.

What are you doing for detoxing and why does your doc say you are not detoxing well?

I had made some good progress after about 6 months and tried to go back to work. within 3 weeks I was worse than I had ever been. blame most on a boss who didn't care that I was sick and doing the best I could.

went back out on med leave and it's taken me another 6 months to get back to where I was before work.

It's a long, slow process and some days are good and some days you feel like you're starting from scratch.

I know detox is a huge thing for me. I take an activated charcoal that seems to help.

hang in there!

I've been doing a lot of reading/researching on different abx and bactrim

rarely comes up for treatment of Lymes. The only thing I've come up with

is that it is sometimes used for Babesia but usually in conjunction with a

macrolide-class abx such as zithro or biaxin. I wonder if you are not on

the right abx? Why does your doctor think your body is not detoxing? Poor

kidney/liver functions? I really haven't felt better since starting doxy

two months ago so I can relate!

I got screwed by Lyme Disease!

Bactrim and Rifampin is what Dave said really helped him with his head symptoms.

Good Luck

transformed I am sorry but:

"My lyme dr is going slow for me because my body is not detoxing."

What a bunch of BULLSHIT!!!

There no such thing as going slow with this infection.

You need to treat it aggressively otherwise you will never

get your health back. You need to increase your abx dose.

My dr made sure I detoxed before antibiotics. But then I blinked and he hit me hard with 3 antibiotics at the same time. He added one at a time but it didn't seem long before I was on all 3. So I think Davmark is right but I understand the importance of detox.

Are you on a proper lyme diet?

Did he test for co-infections, yeast, heavy metals?

I'm not a Dr. but these are a few ideas you can think on. Do you think expressing your concerns to your Dr. will help? Please let us know how things work out for you. We all hope the best for you.

~~~Hello transformed,
~~~RE your "Is it too soon to expect to feel even just a tad better after 4 mo?" In many cases yes. In fact in many cases, worse.

~~~"I don't know what are logical expectations." No Logical expectations are the logical expectation.
~~~Please try not to get bogged down on any expectations, save one. Unfortunately, and I hope not for you, remission of Lyme Complex could take years.

~~~The one expectation? You will rise above yourself.
~~~I'm treating for twelve years now a have come and gone through a hundred symptoms.

~~~I'm down to my last few, one being extremely debilitating, and have finally stopped the progression.
~~~And the fact that my progression has stopped, and considering the alternative, this is my miracle!

~~~And your "Needless to say i am down. It is hard to see the rest of the world smiling when I am so sad inside. I wish this was over already." Me too.
