Hi all,

Igenix gave me a dx of Lyme and Bartonella.

However, I have never had any fevers and don't have swollen joints. They all crack, my neck is the worst.

But never having a fever etc. Makes me question what's going on. I usually have a body temp in the low 97's high 96's.

Could the Bart be holding down the body temp? Can Lyme not attack the joints? It seems like all it wants to attack is my brain.

Louis

I never had a fever at all with this disease. If anything I'm more like you with my body temp being on the low side. Nor do I have swollen joints, if anything I'm more flexible now than I was before due to the weight I've lost. My neck cracks a little, though. It definitely affects everyone differently, that's for sure!

Thanks Polk,

I watched Under Our Skin today. Felt like they were talking about me. Cried a few times watching it. Lyme needs to be researched.

My neck is stiff and muscles always sore. I can't stretch without pain anymore.

Ive also lost 30 pounds in 5 months Sad.

I've lost 20 pounds this year. 33" to a 29" waistline, but I've kept up with strength training exercises so I look ripped! Smaller but sculpted! I don't look sick. . .

From what I've read, it's due to mostly adrenal/hormonal fatigue. People that gain weight with this illness tend to have a buildup of toxins in their bodies whereas people that lose weight have thyroid and/or adrenal deficiencies. For thyroid support I would supplement with iodine (I just ordered kelp pills for that). Still trying to figure out the whole adrenal support thing. I've read to take extra Vitamin C, B5, & B6. If that doesn't work the following Chinese herbs can help: rehmannia, ashwaghanda, rhodiola, and cordyceps.

I also consume a couple scoops of whey protein powder per day with water and/or almond milk. Hope this helps!

Hi friends!

Me too.

lost 30lbs

no joint swelling

sore crackling neck

low body temp

I'm going to ask the doc about the body temp when I go in next.

He did have me document my temp 1st thing in the morning before getting out of bed for 2 weeks. It was always so low. He never said anything about it. I thought maybe he was looking for elevated temps?

When I feel like I'm burning up and would swear I must have a fever, my temp is close to normal.

Wonder what this means?

Lymes and coinfections can cause weight gain or weight loss. And every person id different. You most likely will not experience every symptom on the list.. at least elts hope not!

I have three children with Lyme and they each had their own different set of symptoms. Same with my husband and myself.

Trust the Igenex lab results and your LLMD.

I have gained over 30 lbs in a couple months since I started treating for it, but weight seems to be a big issue for me over the years and after any surgery or accident/ trauma I ALWAYS gain weight!

I was 165, not small but by no means huge when I got pregnant (he will be 16 in a month) & I know weigh like 250.... I barely eat but no matter what happens I gain weight!

I had a tummy tuck 18 months after I had my last child who is now 10 and I gain weight even after they removed over 20 lbs from me... HOW???????? LYME, or the co infections... at least now I know it isn't me!

Jomomma, my sister gained 40 lbs and didnt know why until she was diagnosed with Lyme and Tularemia. Now that she has been in treatment for a little over a year, she has lost over 20 lbs without any change in diet.

She is getting better and the weight is just coming off Smile I dont know if it is different for everyone, but thats how it worked for her.

I am a tiny person, but my weight goes up and down about 5 lbs constantly for no reason... I am only 5 ft. 1 in. so it makes a different when I gain a few lbs.

My other sister with Lyme became so skinny we thought she was anorexic. Since she is almost done with treatment she is at a much healthier weight.
