I am new to this sort of thing but I just had some questions.

When I was 11 years old I got diagnosed with Lyme Disease. I didn't get put on antibiotics until I had it for 3 months, the symptoms started to go away at that point. I finished out the antibiotics for the month I was on them and my doctor told me I was fine.

I am 19 years old now and my lymph nodes are always swollen in my neck, my back constantly hurts (to the point sometimes I don't want to get out of bed, which I know at 19 I shouldn't feel this way.)

I am always tired, I have headaches a lot and I just don't ever feel good.

When I go to my doctor, and tell him I previously had Lyme Disease, he tells me I am fine because I was on antibiotics for it but can't give me an explanation for why I feel this way.

I started looking it all up and it seems to me that I could possibly still have it. Any help?

Thanks!

Sorry you are manifesting symptoms of lyme disease. Had your doctor immediately treated you with antibiotics when you were dx with lyme disease you'd most likely would have been cured of it by now. Sadly, your doctor did you a great injustice by not treating you with abx immediately when he dx you. There is absolutely no excuse for his failure to treat you when you were dx.

May I suggest you run, not walk, away from this incompetent doctor as fast as you can and seek out a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) who will be able to properly dx you and treat you with the appropriate treatment plan? Your doctor has not clue and because of his incompetence you may now have a full blown case of lyme disease and possibly co-infections that often accompany this disease.

Please seek advice here for a LLMD where you live and make an appointment to see one immediately. Most all doctors know that if you're dx with lyme disease that you should immediately be put on abx. Why your doctor failed to do this is beyond me.

I believe you have grounds for a lawsuit. You may be looking at a life time of treating this disease and a very hard road ahead of you. I pray it not be so, but had your doctor done you right, you most likely would not be writing to us today.

I pray things get better for you soon!

Gary

Gary pretty much laid it out for you.

It's highly likely that you still have Lyme's Disease along with co-infections but the only way to be sure it be tested.

But sometimes tests can come back negative and you can still have it.

This is because Lyme Disease is capable of hiding it self from our immune systems.

A wolf in sheep's clothing.

Definitely see a good LLMD so you can get started on a protocol to start feeling better again!

You have our support! Wink

Betty’s suggested posting guidelines:

Many of members have neuro lyme, and it is hard to read long solid block text and be able to comprehend; example, me, 42.5 yrs. neuro chronic lyme, so we are able to comprehend and read. Thank you for helping us help YOU Wink

please post in short paragraphs like you see below or look at a few other posts, but we neuro folks need them short.

1-2 sentences MAX and hit ENTER TWICE to doublespace between each paragraph; we neuros loose our train of thought if it is broken up in the middle unless it goes on FOREVER! hugs

For easier reading, please edit your post. You can break up your longer paragraphs into smaller paragraphs. Please hit ENTER key twice after each paragraph.

Go to left hand corner; click edit send. Then go to bottom and click SUBSCRIBE TO THIS DISCUSSION.

Thank you for posting in a manner that makes it easier for all to read and help others.
