For those of you who don't know the revolting story of Dr. Jones, well, he is being trialled and risks losing his license, for the sole "guilt" of efficiently treating Lyme patients, against IDSA's regulations.

Here is his moving letter to all those supporting him:

Dear Friends,

Your tremendous expression of support continues to overwhelm me. I cannot put into words my heartfelt joy, appreciation and love for you all. The charges against me have provided great challenge, but I remain optimistic. I know that my approach to treatment is sound, and maintain my belief that justice ultimately will be served. I also have tremendous confidence in my legal team, which has been working diligently to enable me to prevail.

We have just entered the second year of legal hearings, however, and my legal defense fund is nearly depleted. My ability to mount an appropriate defense, from a financial perspective, is now in jeopardy (legal expenses have been averaging $1000 per day), and will depend on my ability to continue to meet the high cost of this lengthy and complex process. I currently need a fund of $150,000, to be in a position to fight the charges. In order to achieve this, I need your financial backing, in the form of as generous a donation as your circumstances will allow. It pains me greatly to have to ask this of you, knowing the tremendous burdens that Lyme disease already has imposed on so many. It is critical, however, that I retain my license, in order to preserve timely access to appropriate, comprehensive treatment for the children who are so very ill.

Checks should be made out to the “Charles Ray Jones, M.D. Legal Defense Fund” (write “gift” in the memo section), and mailed to the CRJMDLDF c/o George Heath, III (CPA), 26 Fairlawn Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Alternatively, credit card donations to the legal defense fund may be made through a PayPal account: www.DefendLymeDoctors.com

Thank you for your continued support, your prayers and good wishes. Regarding your many letters of encouragement, please know that I read and appreciate every single one.

Sincerely,

Charles Ray Jones, M.D.

Message from Dr. Jones about the Sept. 28, 2006 Hearing

Charles Ray Jones, MD

Each hearing cost 25,000 USD out of his own pocket. It's outrageous what this kind, competent, fine doctor is put through, it makes me sick to my stomach, I can't even express myself right when I think about all this.

The closing hearing took place on May 31th, and we are all awaiting now the jury's verdict (sometime in September).

There are five more meetings until then.

He dedicated his life and career to treating children suffering from this horrible disease, and he saved so many...

It's a disgrace and an atrocious monstruosity what he was put through.

All the news I could find about his case stopped at May 31st... but this is not the end of the fight. Does anybody have any updates on his situation? Are contributions still needed?

dr. jones told one of his patients after 5-31 hearing that this is NOT done; it's only phase 1 of 4 or 5 steps!! how awful to still being dragged thru the mud.

no more news on lymenet; now it's down for 1 week; NC service provider was hit by lightning early this am so you'll see more of us over here.

Is Dr. Jones still in need of contributions, does any of you know?

I'm willing to help, but I don't know if he still needs it, or where and how to send. Any info on that?

To all receiving this!

Dr. Jones is our no. ONE KIDS' LYME LITERATE MD IN USA; we only have 9 nationwide! So this gives you a feeling of how much we NEED to keep Dr. Jones, 78, doctoring our lyme-bitten kids! He works 7 days/wk. and lives modestly above his business!

Please forward to others and especially to any philanthropists you MIGHT know! We need to get these hearings over for Dr. Jones/Jemsek, NC, and move on fighting our lyme in our bodies with different treatments. Thank you.
