I have been on doxy for week now and it has been rough on my stomach. It seems to get worse the longer I am on it. I have been having some of the same troubles as you with some nausea thrown in. Hope it is at least helping. Take care

Hi lymefighter,

Have been on Doxy a few months here. It does screw up the stomach if you take it without food. So take it with a small meal. Avoid dairy or foods high in calcium and mag 2 hours before and after taking it. Those foods interfere with the absorption but also make the stomach stuff worse.

However, the pain you are talking about... I personally have not had those issues with the doxy.

Could be something you ate. Could also be a stomach bug/virus. I think I have one, have had a few rough days that are just not my usual. And my "usual" can be pretty unusual!

But.... It could also be Candida. Being on antibiotics makes the yeast grow faster. Are you on a probiotic?

Hope you continue to feel better...

hi! oh i have had my share with doxy stomache aches......when i was told i was going on them i pleaded with the doctor....

here is what helped me.....never again a stomach ache.

eat FOOD with the doxy...i mean real food no crackers....

and most important DO NOT LIE DOWN FOR 30MINS AFTER TAKING THE PILL......SIT UP!

i know how hard that was for me when i was super super tired...

lymefighter,

Doxy messes with our GI systems...but it also kicks some serious spriochete butt!!!

I was on Doxy/Zithromax for 6 weeks....UGH it was rough but worth it! Purple gave you some great tips - NO DAIRY and don't take it on empty stomach...always have a small snack at least.

Here's to feeling better Smile

Eating something before taking helps. There is a time released doxy that also eliminates the stomach issues
