MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

Hi Everyone,

Saw my primary Doctor yesterday. We went over my bloodwork and he said my Lyme is gone becouse the 41kda was the only thing that came back positive. He did say the lyme test on october 5 2007 was positive lyme. The second test I had on November 16,2007 which I believe I was still on antibiotics.Well we all know how reliable these tests can be.I am going to see a LLD in town and also a rumatolagist. He said I have a unexplained connective tissue disorder. I also have to go back to my hematolagist becouse of high immunaglobulins.Has anyone else had problems with high Immunaglobins? He was very nice and gave me copies of all my bloodwork.

Any input about this is appreciated,

JEAN

i was dx with MCTD mixed connective tissue disorder (lupus, ra, scleroderma) before finding lyme. also dx with fibro. now, I know it's not right to get the lyme blinders on too, so go see the rheumy, it very well could be something else, but still see the llmd, were you tested thru igenix? can't remember.

Hi Jamie, No it was not through Igenix.I will ask the lyme doctor if he will do that.My primary Dr.did give me lyrica.I got the 7 day trail yesterday.I have to call the pharmacy today becouse my insurance would not cover it,she did say if the doctor writes something then they might cover it. I am really concerned about weight gain with lyrica.I am overweight now and am trying to lose but it has been hard with so many health problems.I do have the generic nurontin also.I would love to be pain free, but this is the highest I have ever weighed and if I gain anymore I know i will become diabetic.I am on the border of it now! Hi:

I did gain weight while on it, about 8 pounds in 2 months. Plus my hands and feet held water.

Jean~

I just started lyrica not too long ago, I swear I've put on 5 poundsw in a week!!! I was researching the medication and all I could get with user comments was stuff on weight gain! nobody said if it helped or not. So far it hasn't helped me one bit...think I will stop it. I had such high hopes, because I do think I might have lyme induced fibro. what these ducks never hear me say is thatit's NOT MUSCLE PAIN it's in my bones and joints and nerves. aaaahhhhhh. It's amazing all the health issues in this country. I was watching "Sicko" and other countries aren't as sick as we are.

Hi Jamie,

I am doing Weight watchers online. I posted a message today about Lyrica and weight gain. They said if you exercise along with it(Which I know is not a easy thing for us) you can maintain or loose.I'm sorry you feeled like you have gained already Hon

But maybe you should give it a little while longer. In the information I was given it said it might take over a week to feel the Benifits.I just talked to my pharmacist He faxed over info about my insurance not paying for it to my primaryDoctor.Ya right that will take about a month for them to get on the ball Do you think it is more of a bloat feeling.I did hear it can make you retain water. You are right about the health care in this country It is crazy.I got my sister Sicko for Christmas .She wanted it.I'll have to rent it.GENTLE HUGS,Jean

I think..and I could be very wrong b/c as we all know ones memory isnt the greatest...but I think my LLMD explained it to me as they can test to see how supressed your immune system is. B/c having Lyme supresses it A LOT and if they test you and it isnt supressed that means good news...?

Someone correct me on this if im wrong. Anyways hope this helps...
