I suspect I have Lyme Disease. My doctor did a blood test and called to tell me it was negative. I have been taking 500mg of amoxicillin for an unexplained tooth flareup for a couple weeks before the blood test and today my upper back feels like a knife is in there. There is so much information and I am so confused. I can't find a Lyme Disease doctor in my area.

What additional test should I ask my PCP to run?

I pulled something out of my foot last October/November that I think now was a tick and my PCP said if it was that long ago and I had Lyme Disease it would show up in the blood test. Is this correct??

Thank you in advance for all your help!

Hi there and thank you for posting! Well, the first and foremost thing about lyme , is that the tests are useless! Most primary docs are totally clueless about it, although some can be willing to work with you if you are educated, but then you're pretty much in charge of your own treatment.

If you pm me and let me know where you are located, and where you can travel to, I can get a list together for you.

In the fact section, there should still be stickied a lyme and co infection symptoms list, print that out and mark the ones you have or have had, you might be surprised, things you never thought of! That will be good to take to a llmd.

Warmest regards,

jaime

This is a way late response to that post, but my fibromyalgia doc ran a CD57 and it costed a lot up front and was sent to igenix lab. Mine was 32 don't remember what the norms should be, but mine was low. They then did a DNA type test, the Western Blot, I think. It came back positive. With antibiotics over 2 weeks, you would feel feverish probably, run down like the flu. I had pretty bad joint pain, especially in my elbows.kas
