hello lyme friends and support group, please advise:

"Tick. On the baby. Thank goodness for after-hours pediatrics! It appears to be a Lone Star tick, which doesn't carry Lyme, and it was probably only on her for a day at most. I'm not going to panic yet. (should I be panicking?)"

Wow I would call the pediatrician first. Where I am sure they will tell her their is no danger. Make them document it in her chart that she called next call the state health department and see what they recommend finally try the local extension office they are usually more aware of testing facilities maybe even a trusted vets office could direct you where to go. I would monitor the baby closely for weeks by sleep temp write it all down so she can be informed if the baby does get sick don't let her get defeated by the Dr. take a washable marker and circle the bite area so she can monitor it closely seems like too much but we don't want any more Lyme

OK first thing is lone stars ARE carriers especially in the northeast. So yes I would say the baby should be seen by md and given antibiotic. The tick can be tested. You can call the local health department and they can get you the name of a tick borne lab. What state did this happen in?

Im in New Jersey and we have a couple of labs, but check the local health dept.

I am NOT a doctor, anything I share is based on my experience & research. I encourage you to discuss any and all information that I share with a health care provider.

Tick testing is possibly less accurate than a mainstream WB seems to be.

An article I read this week said many ticks test negative for Borrelia while the people they bit come up with CDC positive WBs.

YES, lonestar ticks are no. 2 of biggest carriers of lyme and/or co-infections especially in the MIDWEST, which texas is part of.

i'll send you by private message the KIDS LLMDS in your immediate area for your friend!

DON'T TAKE ANY CHANCES; TICK TESTING IS NOT 100% accurate.

an online friend of mine from texas had this and misdiagnosed for 45 years!!

gp to my support sticky, welcome letter, PRINT OFF dr. corson's KIDS EVALUATION found under LYME FACTS statement in there.

she outlines every body part.

sending you names before i forget at this hour.

keep us informed also.

prayers to her/her baby!
