BETTYG'S CRITERIA BEFORE I GIVE OUT ANY LLMD INFO TO ANYONE!

1st, click on the name who sent you this PM; this shows their profile.

now read the profile area to see if they have put anything in there...state, M/F, their health problems, their date of birth,etc.

next go to RIGHT HAND SIDE, and go down; HAVE THEY JOINED LYME BOARD? haven't .... DO NOT SEND ANY LLMD INFO.

do reply that all must JOIN LYME BOARD and post their requests ONLINE to the public in LLMD REQUEST FORUM.

then give them the link to mywelcome letter which has the links and my basic necessity infoto get someone going:

next, BELOW the area where they join, look in area of POSTS...will show every post they make on PUBLIC BOARD; NOT PMS.

if they show a post, click on it or them, read over the content of what was said. are they specific on things or VERY VAGUE?

these are my BASIC things i do on ALL REQUESTS I GET FROM PRIVATE MESSAGES!!

some pms are very detailed there, but they have NOT JOINED LYME GROUP; HAVE NOT POSTED any requests.

so i just copy/paste the contents of my welcome letter and send to them this way BOLDING the parts at top about needing a llmd, do the following.

then at bottom, i tell them once they have joined andposted in llmd request forum and READ INSTRUCTIONS ON POSTING THERE, i will then send out info.

this FORCES THEM TO DO THE ABOVE, then if request is VERY BRIEF...few words; i want more info to feel them out that they are legitimate!

where i used to post, and sent out llmd info for 3-4 yrs, the board administrator informed us sending out llmd info, DON'T INTEROGATE FOLKS, THEY ARE SICK.

i used to have 4-5 specific questions for them to answer before i sent out info to them to make sure they were NOT PHISHING/TROLLING US! he told me/others to NOT do this anymore ... they are sick; help them out !!

now i'm going to send this link to OWNER, ROY, for HIS input as to what HE WANTS DONE on giving out llmd info since our drs.are being turned into many state health depts. for LONG TERM USE OF ANTIBIOTICS/ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES/SUPPLEMENTS.

we'll then know how the ROY, THE OWNER, wants us who have llmd names to handle from today forward.

i can tell you before i permanently joined this board, drs. names used to be on this board all the time. it was another poster who complained who was a member where i used to post who complained.

then they had a long discussion, and here is discussion of that for all of you to know. i read page 1 only of 6 pages of replies there just now:

so we'll wait for more instructions from OWNER ROY on how HE wants to handle things on his board.

You know those messages everyone gets that YOU did NOT send? Ever wonder how they do that?

We CAN reduce the chances of this happening.

One way they do this has to do with the way we FORWARD our emails.

Are you are person who likes to forward all those cute stories, jokes, photos, etc. to everyone on your contacts list?

That is all good and fine, but doing the following will REDUCE the chances of those hackers sending out those crazy emails to your contact list.

1. When you forward a message, make sure you DELETE all previous names and email addresses that come along with that email from the original person(s).

2. When you forward your message, add your names but then go to the SUBJECT line and delete the word, "Forward" (Fwd.

3. Change your password often, and make sure it has at least ONE letter and ONE symbol. However, surprisingly, the first TWO steps are far more important than this step.

It only takes TWO minutes to do all of the above, and it will be well worth it.

Also, be leary of some of the "petitions" that come to you. Many have been rolling around on the internet for years, and they are simply a way for those hackers to get emails lists to send out more of their phishing scams.

Also, if you get an email from someone on your email list who is stuck in another country and needs you to wire money immediately (while they wait to get to the embassy, lol), chances are this is NOT from your friend. haha

www.snopes.com is a wonderful site to check to see if something is legitimate or not.

thanks for the above; good tips galore! i want to expand on what you typed above:

1. use BCC, blind carbon copy, so type your group list name into BCC.

2. you will have to ADD BCC; my yahoo shows "insert addresses .. SHOW BCC".

3. please do NOT just show your GROUP NAMES IN "SEND" list as hope has told you about before! folks, me too, just hate this! it's a SPAMMER'S DELIGHT.

4. MY TRUE STORY HERE! that's how someone got MY EMAIL address and has been sending PORNO to folks!! i didn't know anything until a woman who received an email with MY address on it, wrote me informing me she had turned me into proper people!

i quickly wrote her back thanking her for making me aware of this as i would NOT have known this prior, and assured her it was NOT ME who sent this to her.

a FBI AGENT spoke at a srs. conference last yr., i told her/group about that happening. we had quite a discussion afterwards about that!

5. same thing happened where someone has used myname to SPAM FOLKS WITH "VIAGARA" MAILINGS!

6. hope, i learned last yr. that SNOPES.COM isNOT always 100% correct; THEY ARE MY SOURCE TOO for last 10 yrs.

but at bottom of their info they normally show their sources, so i go to the DIRECT source theygive to see if the company/govt/etc. state this is TRUE OR FALSE.

so always clickon the link snopes shows, and read their FULL EXPLANATION; not just the summary that pops up first. you need to click on that to read the rest of the story as Paul Harvey would say.

i can't scroll up to view hope's post to see if i had any other comments i've had 1st hand dealings with to add to or not. thanks hope for your comments!!
