I asked this before but got little response. How many people lost their jobs because of this disease? What are you experiences with your employer? I have expired my FMLA and been denied STD. I called HR and corporate and expressed my anger with their decision. Now I haven't heard anything back and its been 2 weeks. They have to send or call me about me staus of employment, right. By law? What should I do and do you think It is worth getting a laywer or should I call the Labor board(unemployment) and go from there. I can't even get an answer if I've been termintated (no letter or phone call ).The people I have been in contact with are on Vacation til Jan 2. Julie said Unemployment helped her out. Is every state like hers? I called once and they said they can only help me with FMLA matters, not Disability because its a company policy. Any help will be appreciated. Why do companies treat us the way they do? Like they don't care and think we are faking. This is a real serious disease and needs to be treated like one.

Again, ask your doctor to put you on a medical leave that way you can get short term disability via work. If he won't do that then I have no idea. Or call the SS Office and ask them.

I would get a lawyer, they are free. If they win they take 33% and if you lose they get nothing. But it will take a good year it does not happen over night.

Yes umployment did help me as they fired me even tho I had a doctors letter stating I was on a medical leave (that was years ago)....My employeer tried to fight my unployment got a lawyer via umployment and I won...So they had to back pay me etc....

Lyme will not win, we will and we WILL…
