Hello,

I posted here a little while ago, and have since gone quite downhill. I got into my llmd today. I was quite lucky since he was booked straight until the end of January. Anyway he diagnosed me with chronic Lyme. He has me starting new oral antibiotics. They are clarithromycin 500mg twice a day. Along with it hydroxychlorquine 200 mg twice a day.

Has anyone heard of this treatment? I am so out of it that researching these drugs is making me very nervous. I have a doctor who believes that the hydroxychlorquine (generic for plaquenil) will change the pH of the cysts and allow the clarithromycin to be absorbed and allowed to kill the spirochete.

If you tried this treatment could you tell me any of your experiences on it? Any info anyone could give would be greatly appreciated thanks.

OK so Biaxin and Plaquinal...

My mom has been doing this - working on her second year, ahe has had to add Malarone for Babs - and is back to feeling better after barely a week - FINALLY feeling better.

I have always done well on Biaxin - and anything that helps get in in general is good - BUT you do need to keep up with your EYE doc appointments - every 6 months as the Plaquinal can have some adverse effects on the eyes - retnas I think....my mom went to the eye doc right after being put on Plaq - and just had her 3rd follow up and all is well...

As it goes with this disease - so many things are bitter sweet....

I know what I am and I know what I am not

Never put it past this disease to be the culprit - but we also cant brainwash ourselves into believing that it is the only thing

Thanks so much for the reply. I was trying to do research and I read that it can effect the eyes and I got really scared. I'm glad to hear that your mom is doing so well.
