Hi All,

I am wondering if anyone has had heart issues associated with LD. Although I am short of breath often, I also feel like something is up with my heart. Sometimes, I get really fuzzy headed like I am going to just black out. I feel like it is related to oxygen/heart/brain.

Also, this is bizarre, but peppermint gum brings on this "fuzzy black out" feeling. Weird, but it is a pattern I have noticed.

Thanks for any info.

AMY

heart problems are pretty common with lyme, unfortunatly. There isn't a crevice in your body this aweful bug doesn't get into. If you are concerned about it though, I'd have it looked into further. I am "lyme crazy" everything is lyme to me, but still I always wonder in the back of my head if something is being overlooked. I would hate to miss something serious because I have lyme on the brain.

I also get dizzy, feel like I'm going to pass out. Definitly seems like a O2 issue, shortness of breath etc. At my age, shouldn't have these problems, but when you factor in lyme it makes sense.

I also have those weird heart feelings. I feel like my heart skips, or goes fast. I have to breath in my nose and out my mouth a couple times or I feel REALLY dizzy. I felt like that last night and then my left side went numb, and felt cold. From the top of my head down my leg all on the left side. Another crazy lyme thing. boo..

I would def talk with your doc about the heart thing b/c jamie is right you dont want to asume its lyme and its not.

I developed a benign heart murmur from Lyme, have learned that it is pretty common when you have an infection. I also feel like I am about to faint quite often, luckily it has now started to decrease.

You know, it just hit me when you said "it's quit common with an infection" Tina~ My mother in law had some sort of fever when she was little, be it scarlete fever or what I don't know, but it wasn't treated and she ended up with damaged valves to her heart from it. She just had heart surgery becuause she kept going into afib. So I wonder if this is like that, if it's with infection and it can damage your heart. Oh man, we need to get this lyme kicked in the butt NOW!

I've been having heart problems also, but all my EKG's have been normal. I wondered about my lungs also but my LLMD says Lymes doesn't seem to effect the lungs. As far as the heart goes, what can we do?

I say supplements and herbs. goes along with building up the immune system to help fight lyme. if you google herbs and vitamins you can see what they all are good for. I know at Target the vitamin section has it even listed on the bottle "good for cardiovascular" type thing. I think that's all we can really do at this point. Try to get the lyme licked and build up what we can .... I have many helpful tips posted throughout all the forums on it.... IE bruscano's guidlines, exercise, building up immune system, etc.

thanks Jamie for the info. One thing my husband and I are really struggling with is what and how is the lyme affecting each system. What exactly is happening to the cells etc. I haven't found this info yet, but I just got a new book I haven't started yet. Maybe they have a Lyme Disease for Dummies book. If not, they should!

Also, thanks for turning me onto Stephen Buhner. It is amazing how many books he has written. I have my reading list for 2008.

Happy New Year!

Amy~ You're welcome! One thing I do know is that lyme affects EVERY part of our bodies. It's a smart bacteria, and travells everywhere in our bodies. very scary. I have to run now, but will get more into this later.
