MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

Hello,

I just began treatment for my chronic Lyme, minocycline 200mg every 12 hours. I am wondering if it's already fighting or could I just be having another bad day. My head feels like someone sliced in down the middle, the pain is more than I have ever had before. I only could sleep for a few hours and woke up with dry heeves...I have had some bad days with my pretreatment, but never expected this battle to wipe me out so quickly. I need to stay positive and fight, but my body is telling me defeat....If anyone has any advice, I would love it...I thought about journaling all of my experiences. Open for suggestions here...Thanks in advance

Consult your doc to make sure it doesn't have anything to do with bad side effects that make that drug not a good option for you. If your doc seems ok with the type of worsening you are experiencing as a herx...then you need to try to just buckle in and ride it out...I'm sure you've been through worse, right?

Hope you feel better soon!

I can't agree more, please call your doctor and inform them of how you are feeling...Some side effects are just awful and they can switch your abx around...

I just got up from a much needed nap, feeling much better...The dry heaves had me afraid since it isn't a normal symptom, but with Lyme, it's full of many surprises...My appetite has basically diminished, which is also new..Do you think that it could be a good sign that the antibotic is making me sick, proving it's fighting??? I have to learn patience....

Thanks so much!

I was able to skip the nasty herxing in my alternative treatment so I'm not a good judge there. I would def. call your doc and make sure it's not side effects - he should know if it's normal or not.

My husband was taking Samento and accidentally took too much one night. Within 5 hours he was sick as a dog - I've never seen anything like it. He was throwing up, chills, fever, etc. It lasted 3 or 4 days. It was only 5 hours after taking it so I'm sure abx could effect you that quickly as well.

Hope you are feeling better soon! Call that doctor!

Clayton,

I just hope I am doing the right thing here. I never checked into alternative treatments as you are doing...I need to look into Samento, especially before my kids are treated.....

I do feel better, thanks....I don't know about you or anyone else, but I always hesitate before calling his office. They just think everything's a Lyme Symptom. I know, put My health first....Let me repeat...MY HEALTH COMEs FIRST.....One more time =) LOL

When are you due?? or did you have a precious baby and I behind on these posts??? Hope your having a wonderful day!

Claire - I would just call since you are already feeling so ill after taking the meds. You can just ask if it's a common side effect. I would think nausea is common, not dry heaving. That sounds a little extreme to me. You can just ask to talk to a nurse - they get calls like that everyday.

I'm happy to answer any questions you have about Samento/alternative treatments if you have any - just pm me anytime. I know it's not for everyone but it has worked for me as well as others on this site.

Stella is due on Valentine's Day, so no, you are not behind on posts. I am having a great day - sonogram turned out perfect this morning and my placenta previa is gone - so no more worries for now. I'm celebrating with an imaginary margarita. Thank you for asking!

Congratulations! I am so happy everything is working out. Stella is a beautiful name....Is Stella your first? Did you have to do the "bed rest" with the placenta previa? You enjoy the imaginary Margarita...Perhaps your hubby will let you call him "Ricardo" as he serves you that drink. Throw in some Grapes and a Fan and your good to go!... =) Celebrate Big, you deserve it!!!!
