Hello,

I was wondering if anyone ever got sore throats when they were herxing?

I just started getting shots of Bicillin and can't tell if I caught a virus or if it's a herx. How do you know?

It literally feels like I'm swallowing glass and some mucus in my head too, along with joint pain everywhere, eye pain, fatigue... it's so scary. Thank you.

Sounds like sinus to me....Or the flu that is going around. I would check with your doctor...

Or it can be a reaction to the drug. I would really call the doctor and ask about this....

You raise an excellent question about whether it could be a herx or a virus. Two days ago, I was also in major pain with a sore throat from hell. And today, I'm feeling better than I have in a long time. So, there's hope for you too! The only thing that helped me was taking 2 or 3 advil every 4 hours to reduce the swelling.

I would call the drug store and find out if its a reaction to the abx...To me they can answer it better then the doctors. I don't think I would wait until Monday....

I'd have to agree with Julie. The pharmacy should be able to tell you if that's a possible reaction. They have access to info that will let you know that. At least they can give you more info on that much. If it's a reaction, you'd need to discontinue the meds immediately. If you feel like you're trying to swallow glass, to me it's not worth continuing... JMO. I'm sorry you feel so bad, tho! *hugs*
Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help.

I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

Yes please call today...When I was on Cipro (years ago) I took one pill started to itch, called the doctor said take a bendryl and CONTINUE the drug...So I took another one later that day...Ended up in the ICU for 10 days due to a reaction.

You can react to an abx at any given time, you can be on it for months and months and then have a reaction...Please call when you can, better safe then sorry (like me)...

Much luck

Julie
