Wow been out of the picture since Wednesday...

As for the original question...King - there are times that I still have a hard time wrapping my head around all that comes with Lyme. Ya need to go through all the motions in terms of what you feel about this whole ordeal. And then let it go. So much of the emotional aspects can really wear you down and put you in such a funk - then treatment becomes difficult. I have been bound to my bed and living room, I have had such bad crashes that my hubby had to bath and dress me, and even put me on the toilet. But I got through it. My mother has had to care for me...and there has even been days where I have had to keep my oldest home from school to help me with my twins cuz i was so sick.

And there have been times like now...balencing on the threashold of disaster, but i push through and make it through each day. I have come to a point where mentally, i refuse to let this knock me down.

Point is, ya cant dwell on the negative aspects of this disease, and you cant spend time feeling guilty because you are not as bad off as some of the others here. It breaks my heart every time I come on here and read the struggles that so many are going through. So I focus on whatever sharing whatever knowledge that I have, and If i dont have any answers, I do what I can to let them know that they are not alone. There is just so much that this disease can do to each of us on a personal level. Having support and understanding I think sometimes is the best medicine that we can get. Because this disease is such a fight on so many levels.

So learn, connect and share with eachother - one way or another we will all get through it. One person at a time...

Find strength in your feelings, and use it to fight back and get better...find strength in the numbers that we have here...

I know when I first got lyme I wanted to buy every book about it...My liberary has them all, and if yours does not have them order it...Why buy it...Then I copied the pages I wanted.

Good luck in your search

Thanks so much Christine. I have been so exhausted lately and the nerve pains make me want to scream. I am still concerned as to why I have a continued bruise type feeling in my spine, I suppose my MRI and bone scan would have shown something more serious. I do have slight DDD but not sure it its in that exact area. I am going to ask for another MRI of that area. I think I am having a hard time accepting I have lyme...

King,

I think most people go through that stage of having a hard time accepting it's Lyme, even with a diagnosis. Many people don't want it to be LD, cuz it's not the easiest thing to have diagnosed. Also, you think, what if it's something else? So many things are related to LD, and LD's the great immitator. But the thing is, many things improve with antibiotics, the things that are so similar to LD, that should really tell you something. And the fact that you get worse and then better should also give you a good clue as to what's going on. I hate that you are having a hard time with this. I know how hard it is, and I'm on a natural protocol. Every time I up my meds, I think, Oh, here we go. More pain, more fun, yippee! But then I realize after the pain gets better, I actually feel much better than I did before. 8 weeks into a natural protocol, I'm feeling much better than I have, honestly, in YEARS! It's truly incredible, and yet, I have doctors telling me this crap's all in my head? I don't think so! Keep your chin up, and keep with your protocol, whatever it is...You'll get better, and things will improve. You WILL see the light at the end of the tunnel. I promise you'll get there. Everyone's different, so it may take a while, but you'll get there!

*hugs*

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help.

I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

Good, I'm glad I could help. Just keep your chin up, and keep going. If you ever want to vent, I'm around, just holler at me! LOL

King-

Real quick - as for the bruising feeling - I get that sporatically on my body. Suddenly i will have a spot that feels so deeply bruised - as if hit with a bat or something...

If you worry and have ins to cover get it checked -if nothing is found - then you have one more piece of evidence to put in your lyme locker...

You are getting there with this - the accepting thing...take your time - but dont let your health slide...

Always here
