MDJunction to me

suebaby41"I was recently diagnosed with Recurrent Breast Cancer In The Chest
Wall. I would not be able to handle it as well as I am without the
help of my MDJunction friends. It just proves to me that there are
lots of good people in this world and I am happy to be involved with
MDJunction who seems to have most of them.

The winds are really rip-roaring here. I think they said the winds were up to 40 mph now. My back door was

hard to open because of the drifts already. I think there must have been about 6" at the back door. I have

to go get my boots on to take my dog out. I'm afraid to let her out by herself since she is blind. Please pray

our 100 feet trees do not fall on us. Smile We are expected to get up to two feet of snow. If we get that

much I can imagine many roofs won't take that much weight. I wish all of you well. Smile

Ditto---Really bad up here also. Winds are awful, Jim just called from work and said we will get around 2-3 inches per hour after midnight when the eye of the storm hits. He said he has taken over 980 calls so far, going to be a long night for him. No idea how he will get into the drive way.

I have woods all around me so, can't see my pool...But its fun in a way to be snowed in tomorrow....

Hopefully we will have some good photos tomorrow. Drifts up to 2 feet when I took my dog out.

Roof should be OK, its very light snow, that really helps and with the wind it will blow a lot of it off the roof....

The storm we had in december dumped 3 foot of snow and was all wind as I live right off the ocean and a lake. The drifts on the back door were 8 foot high. It took us 2 days to dig it out so the 3 dogs could get out.

I have a Jack Russell/Pit bull who is 35 lbs. She loves the snow and Like Julies dog, she is nuts.

She had such a good time visiting all the people on the street shoveling. They never plowed our street for 3 days so I knew she wouldnt wander too far.

Oh wow! Three feet is incredible. I had to force that back door open. At first I could only budge it about 3 inches. I was able to stick the shovel out sideways and

get some of it away from the door. I bet the drifts are at least 3-4 feet tall now. Our lights have dipped several times. We got a call from the police saying that power

is out in parts of the city. They advised us to go to a local school about two miles away if the power goes out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we keep power. I

can't leave my two dogs here by themselves. They both have diabetes and don't do well in the cold. I can just see me trying to fit two big labs, my boyfriend with a cast and me into the car. Stay safe everyone.
