Can we share our food or drinks with our family when we have lyme? I'm getting mixed answers. I have two young children ages 2 and 5 who always want what daddy's having....even if they have the same thing in their plate or cups. My wife is also a picker. Can they ctach the disease by eating off my plate or drinking from my cup?

Picsave, my heart always goes out to those who have children who are exposed to our disease. I am sure you dont want to pass it on to them, and I hope some people can give you some answers on this.

We actually had a post going on this topic several months ago, and there were some good responses. You might want to also enter this topic into the search part on the upper right to bring it up. I think it is under " Lyme contagious?"

This is one of my biggest questions also right now! I have been upset thinking that I passed on Bart to my family, because when staying with them, I used alot of the same kitchen utensils and towels etc. I thought Lyme could not be passed on.

Now my brother in law is having symptoms that people on here have described as Bart symptoms.

I will be curious to see what new info. people can give on this. My understanding now is that it is better not to share food and drink. As it is possible for Bart to transmit this way.

Anyway, blessings to you and your family!

I wish I had solutions for everybody here who is suffering, but I am still hunting for them myself and seem to be more of a student on this board than a teacher. All I have to offer is my experience, support, and prayers based on what I have learned in my recovery. I am not a physician.
