MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

Have I mentioned enough lately how much I LOVE my new LLMD?? I never knew there were doctors out there like this! Truly, he is the most compassionate, caring, understanding, and upbeat doctor I have ever met!

I saw my LLMD again this morning, and he spent two hours with me Friday. We have gone through almost every aspect of my medical history, and other applicable data from my life... He's taking it ALL into consideration. He's going to be treating my whole body, and I really do believe that is key here. That's my opinion, and so I am thrilled to be in such capable hands.

Because of the comprehensive testing we did, and the subsequent conversations regarding the findings, and other concerns that were addressed,.. he had spent another two hours with me. Wow, that's some excellent doctor/patient attention going on there!

The comprehensive testing was really interesting, and he feels it is unlikely I have co-infections or the heavy metal toxicity as we feared last week. I did respond strongly to having Borrelia though. Clayton, I bet you may know which comprehensive testing I'm referring to, maybe Connie, Denise & Ann, too? He was trained by a Dr who teaches this method around the world so I'm thinking this is the type done at the GA clinic possibly, too! I am sure it would be subject for debate so I am choosing not to discuss it further on the open forum right now... I don't want it to lose it's "shine".

Anyhoo,... we drew lots and lots of blood for all sorts of labs, we discussed several hormonal deficiencies, etc., and we talked about what treatment to start with for the Lyme.

I'm going to be starting several supplements over the weekend for my overall well being. Like I said, we suspect I am deficient is several areas, and so he's hoping to know by Friday so I start taking those right away and hopefully give me a head start on a "boost" before I leave for our holiday vaca next week.

I was going to start treatment today, but (and don't yell at me for this anyone), I really do not want to risk the possibility of any nasty herxing while on this vaca. I am systemic and have CNS involvement so I will likely not be feeling well. I honestly figure that if I've gone this long, 2 more weeks probably won't be the end of the world, JMO.

As soon as we get back, I will start on a combination of both Doxy and Samento. Don't know the dosages yet, but I do know we will keep treating until I feel better, and beyond, and then once we do take me off, we will watch in case I need to go back on. I will also be on various supplements, but don't have the list to tell you which ones yet. Oh, and a comprehensive probiotic, too. Plus, he wants me on an organic yogurt in addition to the probiotic.

Umm, labs for every possible organ, hormone, etc., and did the kit for Igenex and it got mailed off this afternoon, overnighted so they'll have it tomorrow.

Should have the results back when I return from the vaca!

Anyhoo,... think that's about it. Other bits & pieces, but overall, another very good appointment!

Think I'm going to kick back & watch a video shortly... Have a good evening everybody!

Hey Can I ask a question to anyone. Started Doxy, first 5 days I was fine, Now I feel worse. pain in Knees, nauseous, troubel bending my fingers -- not sure if this is just my Lyme or the Doxy making matters worse. It seem to not affect me the first few days -- anyone have that experience?

Debra

debra~ you're likely herxing. it's a common thing ... basically means you can develop new symptoms or old ones can be exaserbated. some people feel like this for a while, as in a continuing herx (I seemed to herx for several months beofre actually getting into a "pattern"), others will herx initally, then just kind of feel better and better. others fall into a routine, they pretty much know at what time of the month their herx is coming. I'm going thru the same thing, I was on biaxin for a year, we just switched to zith, and after 4 days my herx started in.

it's a good thing, means you're killing bacteria. a nice warm bath with epsom salt and peroxide and fresh grated ginger is a gentle detox that might help, just not too hot. also push the water drinking too.

Beauty~ no you're not crazy for waiting until after your vacation. I would do the same thing. You will likely herx too, and you might as well enjoy your vacation without adding more to it.

I'm so glad you have such a wonderful doc. I know the testing you're tlaking about too, and in my opinion, it's awesome. I've had it done, I've done it, I've seen it done, your body can't lie. I've seen it done on sceptics, and seen it proven to back up results. very cool stuff!

hugs,

j
