OMG, help me before I tear them out!! My eyes hurt SO BAD!! This has been going on for a long time, and just keeps getting worse. They feel like they are trying to be pushed out of my head yet they won't give an inch... They feel full and ache SO much...

I am constantly squinting. Light sensitivity is increasing again, and my floaters are back. They are not the kind that I just see all the time and disrupt me... these I usually see when I am not exactly 'focused' on anything in particular... I have the usual pin dot floaters I've always had, but the squiggly looking ones are back.

Last night, my eyes were hurting so much I finally just RUBBED them, and when I took my hands away I could barely see because everything was THAT blurry. I blinked & blinked & rubbed them again & blinked some more, but I just couldn't focus. It started to freak me out,.. then I rubbed again and all of the sudden as quickly as it came it was gone again, thank goodness! Has anyone experienced this???

My headaches are increasing, too, but likely due to the extra squinting.... my neck is getting worse again, too. I am FULL of complaints, but my eyes are so bad that they are almost overruling everything else if that gives you an idea of how much they hurt.

*Waaaaaahhhaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!* Sorry, I am just in agony!! Going to sign off for tonight,.. I have my screen resolution turned WAY down to a soft grey and it is still killing my eyes to look at it so I'm outta here.... Will check in tomorrow!!

Maybe you are herxing, since alot of your symptoms seem to be getting worse all at once? Excedrine Migrane is the only thing that's helped me with eye aches and/or occular migranes. So sorry that you're having to go through this. I actually went to an opthamologist and had my eyes checked for irregularities, just to keep myself calm. Everything checked out okay. Maybe that would help?

Oh Beauty...

I think it is safe to say that I have that too, pressure and throbbing. And I have had that extreem light sensitivity too. But I cant for the life of me remember what we did for it. I believe these symptoms can be associated with occular migrains.

I used to have occular migraines (what you have described)- But was also accompanied by the shakes or jitters...eyes would rapidly jitter left to right or up and down. When at its worst. Really a strange feeling...

And then there are the "drunk eyes". Thats fun. When focussing on something - OH like Driving - left eye looks to the left and right to the right...ya fight for control over the muscles and against the dbl vision, ONLY to black out - yea while driving is fun. Eye doc was able to put something called Prisim in the script so the eyes had less strain to focus. But those glasses broke yrs ago...

OOPs - ok back to topic. Now I dont get all of these symptoms, but like last night, I did have most, with an unbearable headache. I usually start placing an icepack on different areas for short periods, and pressure point massages as well. With those pressure/trigger points, when they are really hard I apply pressure for 7-10 seconds then slowly release - it sometimes helps (repeating several times). Ice to my head is the only place I can really tolerate it...also slow circular massages of sore points all over my head - med pressure...

So sorry, wish things werent so bad for ya hun!

Christine

I know what I am and I know what I am not

Never put it past this disease to be the culprit - but we also cant brainwash ourselves into believing that it is the only thing

Beauty,

I wish I had something helpful to say but I've never had such severe symptoms with my eyes.

I hope this starts to get better quickly. I'm so sorry for all your pain.

I get eye pressure and floaters and stuff but what really bugs me(no pun...yada yada) is when I get tunnel vision. Everything except for what is dead center goes blurry. Sometimes it is in one eye, sometimes both...sometimes with pain, sometimes not. And yes, this is particularly annoying when I am trying to drive! Or read, or type, or change my daughter's messy diaper! It drives me NUTS! Is this Lyme too?

I am with you on the eye thing, which has just become worse lately.

For me, we finally started to hit the Babesia with Mepron and Zithromax, and I think it's helping. But after my gallbladder surgery, my Bartonella symptoms have gone through the roof. That is what I need to attack next. One of the worst symptoms is the eye discomfort.

The pressure behind them, like they want to come out, and the feeling that they want to close and stay closed. I have had blurry vision, and I feel like my eyes are jumping around. Floaters are so common, I have named them! There goes Squiggly Wiggly now!

Thanks for all the support, you guys.... the eye pain has been so bad it really has almost been overriding all my other pains, even the neuropathy in my limbs & extremities so that's saying a lot.

At night, I put on my sleep mask so it's completely dark, but even that lightly touching my eyes seems to hurt. Closing my eyelids feels good sometimes, and others it hurts more... and ultimately I can only keep them closed either way for short periods because then I feel like I'm almost fighting ti keep them closed over my eyeballs. This leads me to believe that my orbs may be a little swollen?? I find myself trying to fall asleep with my eyelids as 'slits'.. not open, but not closed all the way.... no luck so far so just lay there in agony until I finally pass out.

I had Grave's Disease 8 years ago, and this reminds me of that. And, my PCP did just increase my meds, and I do think it is too much so that could possibly be causing the eye pain to be so much worse right now, too. BUT, my eyes really have been doing this for a long, long time, and long before the med change so I am positive that's not entirely it. It may be contributing, but not the sole cause. I also notice it comes & goes almost in cycles (we have talked of this on the moon thread) so again, not thinking it's just a thyroid med imbalance.

On the floaters,.. mine are dots, like pin-dots, and have always had those, remember them as a kid, but just in the last year or two have I noticed squiggly ones here & there... almost like a piece of fuzz on your eye, but not... and it 'floats' across my field of vision. I seem to notice them more when I have the eye pain... the pressure does it for me. I've noticed this other times when straining with something, if it causes pressure in my eyes (even when not having eye pain issues) that I see the floaters more. Mine are usually light with a hint of shdaow around the outsides of them. One night, I had one bright purple "speck" almost like glitter,.. just one, when I closed my eyes. Wierd...

Christine, in the Lyme Tips forum I posted on a product I use, you might be interested in for the pressure points... It helps me. My PT reccommended it.... Really helps get to spots normally unreachable, too, and without having to try to tell someone else 'where' or 'how much' pressure to use. I do that, too,.. holding in a spot for a moment and then releasing.

The ice thing,.. good idea. Reminded me that I have a cold mask in the fridge,.. has the eye holes in it so I can still see so wearing it right now. *BRRRRRR* Cold, but numbing the pain a teensy bit, AND....... I look like a Super-Hero!!! ROFLMAO!!

hi there,

sorry to hear about your eyes. one of my worst symptoms is my eyes. mine are so strange bc it totally comes and goes.

mine throb + light sensitive + floaters + blurry + ugh - i just want to close them all day long. well they seem very dry too, don't know if yours feel dry or are red sometimes but i use preservative free eye drops and it is really soothing!!! i put them in the am and pm (when they feel worst).

i do think this is really a bartonella symptom... does anyone else agree? so i've been told. do you have bartonella?

be well, m

Eye pain, floaters, pressure...they are all Bartonella symptoms. Frontal headaches, lymph node pain and swelling, lower abdominal pain, cramping in the calf muscles, rashes that look like stretch marks or don't follow the skin...there are lot's of them.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your post, I thought so re: bartonella... any other symptoms you think are specifically from the bart?

I'm currently treating just my lyme now but going to move onto the bart next as I think this is major for me. were you able to clear it? My LLMD wants me on Levaquin. best, be well, m
