MDJunction to me

Joy75"MDJunction to me is a second home. I visit daily to support and get supported. Everyone is so great here. The people are what make this site so
perfect. When someone says I helped them, I feel so good about myself. When
I am down, I come here to talk with my lovely friends. This is a great site
and I’ve come to love it and my friends here. Thank you for making such a
wonderful place to call home!

Had thyroid ultrasound done today on the remaining lobe of my thyroid. The two giant nodules are eve larger than they were a year ago. Possibly a third one developing.

Radiologist report not in, but I can read scans. This puppy needs to come out now.

Likely still benign, but too big to leave in.

The nodules cause Hashi's-like throid hormone surges and make it next to impossible to titrate thyroid hormone supplement dosage.

Does anyone here have experience with Lyme and thyroidectomy, as to:

1) remaining on T3/T4 supplementation prior to surgery and titrating dosage subsequent to surgery?

2) Increased need for calcium due to loss pf parathyroids?

3) Effect of thyroidectomy on tolerance of Lyme abx treatment?

4) Anything else?

I'm an Advocate

have no experience on having thyroid removed.

try this since i'm going to bed.

medlineplus.org is nih's medical library.

then look by health subject or use their SEARCH and type in; it's user-friendly in understanding. good luck.
