I am soooo sorry to sound like such a whiner.

I know I ask way too many questions.

I am having deeper and deeper depression the longer I am on antibiotics.

Is this typical?

I am not suicidal, but I do often wish death would just come find me and sweep me away from all this suffering.

My brain feels more....gosh, how do I describe it......clogged up....like a stuffy nose, but in my brain.

It makes me cry more. For no reason.

I feel so hopeless and that this will be impossible to heal.

Is depression common when taking abx? This is bad.

Makes me want to just give up.

I am so sorry to be a downer and for asking so many things. Sad

( I do not tolerate antidepressants. They also make me more depressed. God, how I wish I had my old life back. I used to love life and was always on the go. )

Thanks for listening.

YEah..certain treatments made me feel strange like that for sure with the head symptoms...

What treatment protocal are you on right now?

What has it helped you with?

Could it be time to switch to a new protocal?

Or add some "naturals" to help with some of the other symptoms?

Some how...how don't ask..I mingled through it and when the Doc switched the protocal....ohh I was a happy camper!

I know we say it here all the time...but you are not alone...

What has your LLMD said in responce to this?

wlkthlneCool

Anything I post or respond to comes from a Lyme and Bart victim himself. I am NOT a doctor. I do my own research for ME...I may share my findings and will post them. They are for general talk and vent...If a group leader feels the info is worth saving somewhere, they are more than welcome to do with it as they like. Wlk=)

Natsmom,

Depression can be a side effect of some of the abx. Doxycycline is really known for this- in fact, my LLMD actually wrote a paper about this and warned me about it.

There are other abx, as well. What are you taking now?

Don't give up hope with this...things can get a lot better. Although I am not totally better yet...I am much better than I was at the beginning of my treatment.

We'll keep you in our prayers and hope you start feeling better soon.

Hugs,

Jackie

I think that the die off would cause this effect period...so detox is essential...

Some of the co-infections (I surmise) cause terrible head symptoms and also cause inability to detox easily.

WIth those two things put together it sounds like you ARE clogged up. I don't know how one would detox the brain. I think antioxidants might be in order.

If you take a lot of natural antioxidants like fluids and grape juice and a raw natural chocolate like I've used in the past that might help.

I wish you better health today. Keep us posted. I think this is an area we have all struggled with.

With Him we "live" no matter the circumstances. At His feet peace of mind can be found. Peace that passes all understanding is my quest now and forever.

Numbers 6:24-26
"The LORD bless you and keep you;the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."

Trying to type through tears here, so forgive me for typos.

I was on Doxy for 5 weeks, and have been on Zithromax and Omnicef twice a day for the last month.

I don't do dairy and barely any sugar. I am weaning off gluten. No caffeine, no msg, no asparatame. I try to stay away from chemicals.

I have a phone appointment tomorrow with my LLMD.

I have a mobile pet groomer who comes to my home to groom my dogs. When she came the other day, I broke down and cried to her ( probably freaked her out ).

I cried on the phone to a lady whom I was speaking to about doing a Neilson's television ratings journal. She asked how I was doing and I didn't hold back.

I cried to the phlibotomist who drew my blood the other day.

I cry at the drop of a hat because I feel so miserable. It's kind of like a grieving thing, too. I miss my old life and job so badly. I'm devastated at being homebound and debilitated, although I know no one would find that enjoyable.

When I fell, I fell hard. Just prior to crashing from Lyme, I was enjoying the best time of my life in 38 years. Now it's all gone and misery replaced it.

And this treatment is amplifying all these hurt feelings and sadness.

The head symptoms are the worst. I can tell it is what is driving all my other symptoms.

Thanks. I'm having a really rotten day.

Crying is detoxing...right?

Boy, reading your quick replies just opened the floodgates. It means A LOT to have people understand me and not judge me.

It is such a sweet feeling to know somebody out there cares and doesn't tell me to suck it up.

I know you don't know me...but I was really proud of ya to read of your diet....and how well you are taking care of yourself to fight this demon!...

Also you don't hold back...heck maybe each tear you cry you are releasing those toxins and those nasty buggers that make us it's victims?????Wink

Glad to hear you will be doing a chat with the LLMD.

Keep us in the loop how that goes...

I know that not everyone will agree with me on this one- however, caffeine was an ESSENTIAL part of minimizing the head symptoms for me.

Here's a quote on caffeine "caffeine is a molecule that blocks receptors of adenosine...adenosine is responsible for the dilation of blood vessels in the brain"

Honestly, I would get a latte every afternoon...and if you look at all of the migraine medicines they all contain caffeine.

Minocycline and Zithromax seemed to clear up most of the head symptoms I had...and I totally agree...I always said I could handle vibrating/buzzing in my feet much better than the head stuff Lyme & co. can bring...

Hugs,

Jackie

{{{{{{{Thank you Wlkthlne.}}}}}}}}

Jackie, I've tried a little bit of coffee. My adrenals are shot to Hades and even a 1/3 of a cup of coffee sends me into orbit with anxiety.

Before I got sick, I had my 2-3 cups a day and it never affected me at all and made me clear headed, like you said it helped you. Now, it's like drinking jet fuel...I'm assuming because of my crapped out adrenals. My husband makes it each morning and it smells soooo good and tortures me.

I sometimes hold the pot up to my nose and just smell it.

Hugs to you all.

Natsmom.

It's really essential to get on some type of adrenal support. Maca (I use powder form and add it to my protein shake) is one that is really good for this.

I've read over and over that it makes it so much harder to get well until we support our thyroid and adrenals.

Eleuthero is another one that Stephen Buehner recommends for the support of these.

I hope you start feeling better soon.

Jackie
