I did find some LLMDs in OR, as well as WA & CA (thx, Jaime), but now I am faced with the decision of which one to go to.

I thought that being able to see someone closer to home would be a plus, but,.. is it in my best interest in the state that I'm in. I mean that both literally & figuratively, btw. Here's why:

1) I am in an increasingly declining state of health, and want to make sure that I am in the best hands possible in treating it, while still being realistic to my location & funding (I will have to go out of pocket all the way)

2) I am physically in a state (Oregon) where most doctors claim that Lyme just does not exist here (how very wrong they are). While there ARE a couple of LLMDs in OR, they are both strictly NPs. I really like the idea of alternative options, but I am not completely sold on the idea that it's the sole way to go, for me anyway. I like the idea of 'complementary' care though.

It has been suggested to me, that I really consider getting an LLMD out of state because of all the politcal issues over Lyme in my state, and the lack of QUALIFIED LLMDs here, and I really am agreeing on that note.

I now have my heart REALLY set on Seattle. There is an LLMD up there that believes in the use of both western medicine AND alternative therapies together. This LLMD, and assoc., are ILADS members, and this LLMD in particular has had specific training for LD, and it is a primary focus.... this LLMD is always pursuing further education in LD also,.. sounds ideal, right?

CA LLMDs look like they may be harder to get in with in a timely manner because they have an increasingly heavy load of new Lme patients building up. One I checked on has an average of a 6-12 month wait list for new patients. And,.. the CA LLMDs are a lot further from me than the WA LLMD.

So,... I am really thinking that the 4-hour drive to Seattle is the way to go.

Did I just answer my own question??? LOL

Should I follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City?

Beauty...

Yea - Just maybe you did...

But no worries...the long waits are the worst tho...so if you have to wait - make sure you make some adjustments at home with your diet too...

You are a silly one I Love it!!!!!

Thanks, Christine!! Guess I'm your new silly-buddy, LOL,.. Hey, if I can bring a smile to someone's face, it brings one to mine! (((hugs)))

I found a video on the LLMD in Seattle... I'm going to PM it to you.

This LLMD is also an ND (BIG PLUS, IMO), that also has LD, BUT is an ND that also believes that abx are a must if you are chronic. To me, it is also a big plus that this LLMD is also an ILADS MEMBER.

I hear ya on the diet adjustments,... I have really been noticing a LOT of sensitivities that I NEVER had issues with before. They've really been popping up this year,... I have especially noted a sensitivity to gluten, which I know is a nasty, underlying culprit for a lot of health conditions.

you can be desensitized to a gluten intolerance. All of these allergies are automimmune and can be corrected with bioset treatment. Check out your local bioset practitioner.

Thx, Paul..... Bioset, huh? Would an LLMD ND be a good source for that?? I don't think I'm familiar with what bioset means. Can somebody 'edjumacate' on this one?

Thank you!!

Desensitizing is one thing...but the thing about gluten is that it can increase some of your aches and pains and add to inflammation...like sugar feeds the disease and so many other things - like yeast...so i just dont know how desensitizing could or would effect those issues - I tend to think that it wouldnt change those things - just leave your gut in peace...

Casine can increase some of these too...which is your dairy products...

Processed foods too - all the junk they add to stuff...

A few weeks ago, I was on a more rapid decline - started cutting the gluten out, and got back to juicing fresh fruits and veggies and I have been able to hold the oncoming crash at bay...I do know better diet-wise - but with 4 kids and stuff - I have a week will at times... not eating anything with gluten in it for 2 days reduces my constant aches an pains to the point where I even forget to take my afternoon pain meds...so for me - it is a help.

You may want to look into Computerized Bioenergetic Feedback test...it is a non-invasive test based on frequency. A good tech will be able to find out alot - not just what is wrong, but what things are working for you and what are working against. I had it done -2x's - 1st time the woman was awesome! 2nd time the guy was trying to convince me i didnt have lyme - that it was ALL harmones - HMMMM - abx only work and make a diff against bacterial infections & some parasites...I guess my getting better at times was all in my head or something - - still angry about that - even tho he was right about the harmones...

Anyway.........

I know what I am and I know what I am not

If it's the "llmd" that I think it is------be careful. I guess he WILL treat with aggressive abx, but if I'm correct in my 'guess', you'll also need a bushel full of money for all the supplements et al. that he'll promote.

There are 'llmd's and there are 'llmds'. All a person has to do to become an 'llmd' is pay your yearly fee to ILADS.

Although I am always touting ILADS----- this is one BIG mistake they've made.

Here is the 2008 seminar for this doctor. A look through the topics might give you an idea if this doctor is a match for you.

Healing the Brain: Applied Neurobiology 2008

The incidence and severity of neurological illness has been on the rise - and our field of applied neurobiology has so much to offer! It is estimated that today only 1 in 4 children is neurologically and developmentally healthy and well by age 6 - an increase of several hundred percent in recent years.

ALS, Parkinson, Alzheimer's disease, Autism and other disorders of the central nervous system are increasing exponentially. 1 in 54 children in the UK is now diagnosed with the full picture of autism, up from 1 in 10 000 only 15 years ago. Statistically speaking, we may not have any "normal" children in a few years.

Something is happening. What is it? In this workshop we will explore the hidden causes auf neurological illness and brain dysfunction in both children and adults and also carefully discuss available diagnostic and treatment options.

Dietrich Klinghardt MD,PhD Introduction: The 5 levels of healing and the brain: simple and effective solutions

The physical body: heavy metal and chemical toxicity - neurological symptoms, recent diagnostic tests (medical, ART), the genetic link.

The most effective detox programs and recent advances in medical and biological detox agents. The new revolutionary treatment for ALS (from Italy). How to interpret the chem panel (SMAC) in regards to the brain. Hormones and the brain.

The energy body: interference fields, toxic ganglia, electromagnetic radiation from cell phone broadcasting and household appliances: neurological symptoms, diagnostic tools (instruments and ART), simple and affordable solutions

The mental body: mental toxicity from exposure to TV, news and negative gossip. Neurological symptoms, diagnostic tests (targeted dialogue and ART), treatment (MFT/PK)

The 4th dimension:

spiritual toxicity and loss of ethics caused by misguided information. The family constellation as diagnostic and treatment tool.

The spirit: as always, no discussion of this plane. It is a private realm.

Robert Crayhon MS,CN (master nutritionist)

Brain Wellness and Brain Repair: Using GPC, ALCAR, PS and Blueberries to Heal the Brain and Prevent Neurodegenerative Diseases

Mark Schauss MBA, DB (Director Lab Testing Division Crayhon Research - formerly Carbon Based Corp):

Practical Laboratory testing for the presence of neurotoxins with evidence- based treatment protocols

Friday evening workshop:

D.Klinghardt MD and K.Paulos DDS:

Neural Therapy for the brain - eliminating electrical disturbances in the CNS Injection techniques -the ganglia, the crown, trigeminal access points, the Einstein points, thyroid, carotis and i.v. techniques and protocols. Procaine, ozone, phospholipids and homeopathics

Day 2

Christine,.. thanks for the tips.

We already have to deal with no casien in our house because my middle DD has a milk protein allergy. I suspect she has an adversion to gluten though, too as her symptoms have not been completely resolved... they have to a great extent, but not all the way. We've gotten away from all the soy we were using as well, and only use it in moderation.

I have seen negatives with soy.... the government is behind that one if you ask me! Guess I should save that rant for the nutrition threads, LOL

I notice adverse reactions with gluten myself as well. I am preparing ahead of time for doing a complete transition in our diets. I'm not one to just jump into most things with studying up, researching & preparing first though so I'm still in the "planning" stages. My BIL's brother is a GFCF Chef so he is helping me a LOT, and I have a friend with Celiac so she is helping me also. Add in that I'm also a vegetarian, it gets intersting getting creative with food now,.. hence why I'm prearing for the further changes ahead of time before taking the plunge.

Cave,... Is the LLMD you listed the info on the one you think I'm talking about? If so, that's not the one... I am going to PM you with the info so I can get your thoughts, okay? You are my new encyclopedia, LOL!

Christine, did you get my PM on their clinic in Seattle and view the video on the ND there I'm interested in? I would like your thoughts as well,... when you have time, of course.

Yes I got the PM - Have to look at it later - been a bit crazy but will do so...

Celiac diet works well for Lyme - as a matter of fact, when I had the BioFdbk tst done - it indicated that I may have Celiac (peyers patches)...did GF for about 3 yrs or so - and did pretty good - but if I ate something I was in agony. Funny tho after we moved here to CO, it all changed...I can tolerate some - and I have to moderate...so i believe it was just how the Lyme was having at me.

Plus now one of the nerves in my spine can trigger massive bowel distress -

AH its all a mess,...

Gotta run tho

Beauty----- I was wrong about my 'guess' about the doc you were referring to. (I've replied to your P.M.)

But it seems the 'nest' is in Seattle. LOL
