MDJunction to me

mabri"When I was diagnosed about 18 months ago with fibromyalgia, I didn't know where to turn. I got on my computer and looked for a support group where I could talk to other people with the same disease and get some help...Information, suggestions, mostly just what I can do now that I have this.....disorder/disease/syndrome...I didn't even know what to call it. I found MDJ, and yes, there was a support group for fibro. I started a post, and figured I would never get an answer. However, very quickly I was welcomed in, and became really involved in the group. I received help, support, friendship and the feeling of being truly cared about by these strangers who had become like family to me. Now, I have been here for about a year and a half...I have become a group leader, and love every minute of it. It is so wonderful to be able to help others. I still receive help and answers from the members in this group. The fibromyalgia is where I go to help, support, listen, care and even laugh. I don't know what I would do without this group." I feel perfectly horrible. I can not imagine what it will be like to have my two girls on lyme treatment along with me in a few weeks and dealing with all our symptoms. My 9 yr old is in a good place right now and it's so hard to think of rocking the boat.

I'm still a week away from the 3 week Paquinil herx, maybe I'm still herxing from the flagyl last weekend? Maybe the plaquinil herx has already started? Either way, this bites.

I've had a pretty active weekend. I know it's important not to over do it (I bagged leaves yesterday. I'm sure that didn't help matters).

I'm making small changes in my diet and supplements but I know I need to do more.

Oh Threeofus,

I'll pray for all of you. I just really feel for parents who have to battle this war and have kids who have to also. I just cannot imagine that. So many healthy families just don't know how good they have it, honestly. I will pray that everything goes well for all of you on your treatments!

Interesting you mentioned raking. I just moved from a place where for 10 years I had to rake up 16 - 18 large bags of leaves by myself every fall. I only had one very small half dead tree in my yard, and I lived in the desert!

99% of it blew in from neighbors' yards. My non AC casita, never even had the advantage of shade from these trees in the summer. And I am convinced that one of the neighbors over the wall, was dumping some of his into my yard on windy nights sometimes, when I couldn't see him or catch him doing it.

I always ended up with a big flare after weeks of trudging through this task. And I don't know which was worse, the Lyme flare or my temper flare. Anyway, since you mentioned it, I am sooooooo grateful I don't have that to contend with ANYMORE!!!

I assure you, leave raking does cause flares!

I wish I had solutions for everybody here who is suffering, but I am still hunting for them myself and seem to be more of a student on this board than a teacher. All I have to offer is my experience, support, and prayers based on what I have learned in my recovery. I am not a physician.

Thanks VicMac, your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated! I enjoyed your leaves bagging story too, good to know I am not alone and what a neighbor!! I do feel a lot better today. It's amazing how you can change from one day to th next.

Today I managed to vacuum and clean my daughters carpet in her room tonight and felt like I had some energy for that. Super tired now though!

Smile Glad to know you had a better day. And yes, it is amazing how we can change so quickly from one day to the next.

Well wishes to you!
