Hello all,

I was just diagnosed with Lyme + Bartonella. I was wondering if anyone has taken Levaquin for Bartonella and if so, what your experience has been?

Has anyone cured themselves of Bartonella? either naturally or with antibiotics? Thank you, this is all very overwhelming...

Hello and welcome,

I have gone the all natural route and I'm free of all coinfections including bartonella and I am mostly free from the lyme. I only get sick once a month for about two days very mildly compared to before, and the rest of the time I feel like a normal person again. I wish you good luck with all your treatments.

Take care,

Denise

I follow ILADS protocols.

I have Bartonella. Bartonella is proving to be one of another 'pesky' TBI that gets 'cured' and then comes back.

I had a really nice remission after my first tx with Cipro (another quinolone) but then symptoms came back after a year or so.

Next tx was Levaquin---- which was even tougher on me than Cipro.

BUT---- there are many people who 'breeze through quinolones----- but people can't tell ahead of time which one they'll be.

With both abx or alternative tx------remissions can be 'forever' but may not be.

Hi Magalie....I have recovered from Baronella, too. I go to the same clinic as Denise. My docs 'prescribed' homeopathics for the bart. I have been free from bart for over a year now. Sure, I'm fresh in recovery...only a year, but it feels sooo good.

I have no experience with any of the conventional meds, so I cannot comment on that route.

I wish you the best medical care possible. I think it's so important to have a trusting relationship with your doctorr. You could even ask him for some phone numbers of his patients that he has treated that are similar to you. I'm on a list at my doc's. I think most Lymies want to help each other through this crazy disease.

I hope you find your way soon!!!

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.
