I thought i would create the subject line on the funny side as we are getting ever so close to Halloween and laughs are good for us.There also could be some real evidence that Lunar phases and Lyme pain do have some sort of relationship. The full moon was on Oct 14th.

I noticed a lot more posting on Lyme pain around that date and after.Maybe this post could be voted as "The Dumbest Post Ever" And i could be gaining a reputation for that. Most likely it will just be entertainment for a few of us.But i have friends here that have PM'd me stating they are in bad shape and it was just after the full moon.I myself was in a lot of pain for the last few days.Today so far is a goody.Do you think there are flare ups of pain around the time the moon is full? I remember Julie saying "Must be a full moon tonight" when there was some bashing on the forums. Lets have a fun Halloween! Smile

Ok, you may think this is strange..But I do belive the moon has a lot to do with the way we feel and act.

And Ron you are right, sometimes we have to have fun and try for a minute to forget we are sick, hard to do at times but worth the try.

Jim is a halloween baby, so this time of the year he loves. I just like the CANDY...Smile

p.s. I remember when I first got lyme and thought I was dying as i was so sick. My sister was giving me a wedding shower and they had to tell me about it as I was on the couch and did not want to go. I made myself get up and get dressed and go. For two hours even tho I was sick as a dog, it made me forget how sick I was (until I got home)..

I think the thing that upset me the most that day was, my one friend that has not seen me in 6 months said "You look great are you sure you are sick"...I almost hit her...Just because we may look good does not mean we don't feel good....I tend to push myself when sick, which only gets me into trouble....Sad

That is interesting buckron because my four week lyme cycle hit last week duing the full moon. My sypmtoms are so minor compared to the way they used to be. I mainly just had fatigue, a headache and low BP. I felt bad on the 14th and the 16th. I never noticed that my lyme cycle was the same as the full moon cycle, interesting. Anyone else?

Take care,

Denise

Denise, Thats it! me too. I got pretty bad in that time frame lets say a week or so around that full moon.Sounds crazy i know but other people increased pain posts i think anyway in the same time frame and i grew a bunch more hair and started running the forests(kidding)

I've had a lot of pain this week or so too. That's unusual for me. I hope it goes away soon. If it cycles with the moon at least then it would be predictable.

Julie, If I had a dollar for everytime someone said 'but you look good'... Some people's kids, eh?

You know - I am a firm believer that the lunar phases have a lot of effect on us and animals. Women tend to menstruate around that time as well. Lyme and women are both on 28 day cycles -- we get a double whammy. haha. I know that they have found people's sleep cycles to be off during full moons.

I worked in social services for 5 years and hated 'full moon' time. People were edgier and we seemed to call 911 a lot more during those times. My policeman friends will also tell you that crime goes up during full moons as well.

There's something to it!

I'm an Advocate

Many of you probably know I am Wiccan. So it will probably come as no surprise to you that I am a full believer in lunar cycles and how they affect many of our bodies' cycles. I would not be surprised to see that this would ring true about having more pain and Herxing around a full moon.

I also used to work in many different capacities in vet's offices for over 13 years. Where ever I worked, we always noticed (not just joked!) that around full moons, more things occurred, we were busier, and things always seemed to just go wrong. It's not just for laughs that many ER offices are more fully staffed around full moons, either. Violence certainly seems to be higher. Lunar cycles seem to affect certain chemicals in our bodies and how they interact with one another.

Buckron, I think you're onto something. I have to say that yesterday, I went to bed thinking, this wasn't a bad day, I think I can classify this actually as a rather decent day, perhaps even a good day. Today has been what I would actually call a good day! I'm in a lot of pain, still, but tolerable. And I FEEL good. My attitude is much better, I WANT to get up and get out and do things. I don't feel so depressed, either. Smile

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help. I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

Something has changed within me/Something is not the same/I'm through with playing by/The rules of someone else's game/Too late for second-guessing/Too late to go back to sleep/It's time to trust my instincts/Close my eyes and leap...I'm through accepting limits/Cuz someone says they're so/Some things I can not change/But till I try I'll never know/Too long I've been afraid of/Losing love I guess I lost/Well if that's love/It comes at much too high a cost/I'd sooner buy Defying Gravity/Kiss me good-bye I'm Defying Gravity/I think I'll try Defying Gravity/And you won't bring me down...
