Does anyone else have super high B12??? I've found a couple things about it, but what I usually come up with when I search is that people have low B12 and try injections for it.

The range for B12 is (at least on my lab report) 211-946 pg/mL. My result indicated that I had MORE than 1999 pg/mL. I always ignored my bottle of sublingual B12, I just never wanted to take it, I really don't know why. Maybe I subconsciously knew I didn't need it or something!

I would just like to know if anyone else has experienced such a high level of B12??? My liver results were all normal, so was everything else.

Welcome to the group! Glad to have you here!

I take a medication called Metanx (Met-an-X) which has high levels of active forms of folic acid, B-6 and B-12, so yes, my B-12 level is through the ceiling.

It is supposed to help my peripheral neuropathy in my feet, but I'm not sure it does a thing. I have to talk to my Dr. when I see him in a couple of weeks. I tried to call, but he wouldn't talk over the phone.

I don't have any bad reaction to the high B-12. My liver functions are fine too.

My vitamin B12 runs high, too. It was in the 700-900 range- and then after supplementing it went up to 1,300 (I guess I don't need it either!) I'm not sure if my body is just not absorbing it- but my LLMD told me that I don't need to worry about it unless it goes a lot higher.

I guess I should find out what " a lot higher" means- but I have stopped supplementing it for now.

Hm, I do take a "B complex" pill every day that has B12 in it, I think I'll start cutting back on that. I also wonder whether or not my body is not absorbing it? I was under the impression that your body rids itself of whatever extra B vitmains it cannot use, and that B vitamins need to be replenished every day because of this (versus other vitamins that can build up stores in your body). I'm a vegetarian and gluten-free, so I end up eating A LOT of dairy as it doesn't require preparation, goes good with everything, and it's yummy. Hopefully this contributes to why I have so much B12!

Shoreline - please let us know if you find out what "a lot higher" meant! I already have 1000 more ng/mL than is "normal". I was convinced I had cancer before we found out I had Lyme Disease, so I really don't like that high B12 levels are correlated with certain cancers. I'm trying not to let it make me paranoid!
