~~~Hello wellred, ~~~I tried accupuncture for several months,several times a week,for thousands of dollars,along with herbs from this Chinese Medical Dr/accupuncturist,and electro-accupuncture too.Up to 45 punctures in one session,I counted! Nothing happened. ~~~But at the same time I felt this was a very good Dr and am certain she was helpful to many, as one of her patients told me that she has helped her,but with non-Lyme issues.And as Tara has said,many Lyme Patients have been helped with this method. ~~~This is so typical with Lyme.We treat for so many symptoms that so many therapies outside of Lyme are effective for,but inside of Lyme are not. ~~~Lyme mocks a disease,in fact 300 of'em give or take,and when we treat for the mocked disease-nothing happens.That is because we are treating for a disease that does not exist but only pretends to. ~~~That is why so many treatments do not work.We are treating a pretender.It is like giving a man a bra.What for? Well in George's father's case,from the sitcom Seinfeld,a bro. ~~~But I am not trying to dissuade or discourage you,just prepare you.You won't know until you try.I pray it helps you. ~~~This is one of the problems/frustrations with Lyme.We try so many things that do nothing.I'm sure I have tried hundreds.So many of us chronic Lyme Patients have.But,nothing ventured,nothing gained. ~~~I know this appears negative and discouraging,but this is one reality of this dis-ease.It is better for one not to have unreasonably high expectations only to be let down again and again and again.This up and down rollercoaster can be very dissapointing and can actually only make you feel worse. ~~~It is far more healing,at least for me, to take the "Middle Way",centered,ballanced,approach.If it helps,bonus. If not,I was prepared. ~~~It's OK,you can ignore me and take the "Think Positive what I think it to be it will be" aproach. "When I was diagnosed about 18 months ago with fibromyalgia, I didn't know where to turn. I got on my computer and looked for a support group where I could talk to other people with the same disease and get some help...Information, suggestions, mostly just what I can do now that I have this.....disorder/disease/syndrome...I didn't even know what to call it. I found MDJ, and yes, there was a support group for fibro. I started a post, and figured I would never get an answer. However, very quickly I was welcomed in, and became really involved in the group. I received help, support, friendship and the feeling of being truly cared about by these strangers who had become like family to me. Now, I have been here for about a year and a half...I have become a group leader, and love every minute of it. It is so wonderful to be able to help others. I still receive help and answers from the members in this group. The fibromyalgia is where I go to help, support, listen, care and even laugh. I don't know what I would do without this group."
