In my browser (mozilla firefox) under VIEW then PAGE STYLE you have the option of NO STYLE or BASIC PAGE STYLE. I have mine set on PAGE STYLE (probably default). Clicking NO STYLE will give a page with a different 'plain vanilla' style page---- no flashing ads. It would take a bit of getting used to, since the format is different---- but the 'main stuff' is there, like posts etc. All browsers have something similar, so if you don't have Mozilla you'd sorta have to figure out where you can do this. (Looking under VIEW or maybe EDIT- PREFERENCES OR OPTIONS would probably be the best place to start.) You can turn that function off or on, depending on what site you're on. It doesn't 'hurt' the computer. <g> Don't buy one of the applets etc to do that. And don't mess with the Registry!!!! Hope this helps |
