The heat in general just makes me feel like a herx is coming on. Anyone else feel this too?

I finally tried a dry sauna last week. Five minutes and I felt sort of drunk for 24 hours. ??

I don't sweat much so I'm careful to drink plenty of water.

I just tried the epsom salt/hydrogen peroxide bath for the first time and felt like my limbs weighed 100 pounds! "If it's herxing it must be working", but holy, it's hard!

Really? Does the epson salt/hydrogen perox bath detox? I'm new to all of this stuff. I know when the heat (I live in MD) came I felt A LOT worse. I NEVER thought I'd want winter to come back!

~~~Hello equest,
~~~Yes ,heat bowls me over.Years ago,when I could,I took hot baths to raise my core temp hoping to kill the bugs.It knocked me out so bad that it closed to paralysed me.I had to use my toe to open the drain to let out the water and a half hour cool down just to crawl over the tub onto the floor and drag myself to my bed to recover for some hours.

~~~Years after when I went to bed cold under heavy covers and woke later sweating hot,it took me fifteen minutes to struggle out from under the covers just to cool off and regain just enough stength to pee in a bottle-barely made it in time!
~~~Some years later a friend invited me to a hot tub in the snow and I forgot about my heat ordeals.The soaking in the hot water in the middle of freezing winter on a farm in the snow was orgasmic.

~~~I floated with ease and great comfort until it was time to get out.I was paralyzed.If I were alone I'm pretty sure I would have drowned.My friend had to drag me out.
~~~This summer heat is dangerous for me, I live in front of a fan with my AC set at 78.My little part to conserve energy.78 in front of a fan is my cut off point.Any warmer and I go down the rest of this steep hill that I am already near the bottom of and into the fire.

~~~Stay cool.
Yes, heat usually produces a bad herx in me, too. If I'm detoxing regularly, I can take dry heat, but not heat + humidity.
It makes my joints sore and my bart symptoms "heat up" ... esp. now that I've recently switched my treatment protocol and dealing with the herx symptoms from that, too. Heat makes a double whammy.
Heat is a tough thing for me as well. If I'm out in the heat or sun for a little to long then my skin usually will get blotchy or will develop heat rash...not fun : ( ! I feel a lot more drained and out
of it as well! I LOVE nice and warm sunny weather, however my body does not! Does anyone else break out in rashes in the heat or sun?!
When I was a kid I lived outdoors on the Gulf Coast of Alabama. I lived in the Bay all summer long.. I'd come home each night at dark shriveled up like a little old lady from being in the water all day.
Back then parents didn't have to keep an eye on you every second..and boy was the summer fun...Not a care in the world...Until........
Everything changed for me as a kid....I couldn't express what was different..or that I was ill...I didn't know what it meant. I've gone through years at a time with certain symptoms so badly flared that I was house bound.
Things begin to spin in the heat for me now. I feel nauseous and get a headache right away. I keep it so cold in the house that sometimes I have to run outside to warm up for a minute or two literally...
When the sun warms me I feel great but then I have to run right back inside. This is the HARDEST symptom to deal with when it comes to trying to make other people/friends and family understand my limitations.....
They all think I'm lazy etc....They don't understand that when I say "can't" I really mean "can't" They think I mean "I don't WANT to"...
The pressure of dealing with society when we're ill can be enough to make us recluses.
As a child I never met a stranger and always had a big white smile on my face... Now I don't even posses that white smile...It's dark and off color and seldom do my lips curl upward in front of others.
I thank God for my children and husband who can always make me laugh. They don't care that I'm just a shadow of the person I once was..They just love me.
With Him we "live" no matter the circumstances. At His feet peace of mind can be found. Peace that passes all understanding is my quest now and forever.
Numbers 6:24-26
"The LORD bless you and keep you;the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."
actually the heat is the best thing for people and the more you go in it in time you will see your syumptoms decrease, at first the pain might be too much but in time you will overcome it. I did and Im not different than anyone here so fly down to sunny south florida and fry your body.
I'm relieved ( and sad too ) that others fee this same reaction to heat. I wonder if it's from a specific bug. Bartonella Valerie?
I NEED to have AC in a car and at home too if it's above 80 ( with a fan).
Interesting that we can't stand extremes, heat or cold. Maybe it's because our bodies are already stressed to the limit.
I read somewhere a LLMD actually recommended a quick sunburn to cause a die off. So, I guess then a herx may be what is going on.
TaraT, you are not alone. You sound sad today. I feel the same as you sometimes, a shadow of my former self. My doctor tells me I will get it all back and so will you. Keep fighting, one foot in front of the other.
I feel great support from this site, thank you!
