Hi everyone I recently posted I was positve on IGM & IGG through Igenex.

I am just wondering if this symptom could be related to my lymes:

-Veins becoming more prominent every where in body,

Veins don't stick out, they just look like varicose veins

-Random Pains in my veins

I did pass out on a tilt table and my GP made appointment with Mayo in 3 months

Could this be lyme causing autonomic dysfunction?

Has anyone else had anything related to this happen to them??

Thank you very much!

Hi there,

I had the tilt table test done as well but I did not get dizzy. They thought that my blood pressure was dropping out. After many tests (all normal) they kind of just dismissed it. Now of course I know it was the lyme.

I have had alot more of those veins showing. The cardiologist did ultra sound but everything there was good as well...

I have a lot of those veins too that look like spider veins and then my veins are popping out at times (which is a new symptom in the last year)

I've had terrible pain in my leg veins at times. I've also recently noticed my 8 year old son is having what looks like a spider vein that runs along a visible big vein on his right lower abdomen from the side toward his belly button...

This is really bothering me because it makes me really think he contracted this disease from me Sad

I have the exact same thing where there is momemts of sharp pain in my veins, but mostly my legs and feet.

They happen more often when I am active. I think it has something to do with POTS/Dysautonomia that lyme brought on because the veins are pooling with more blood. I could be wrong but that is my guess.

Dunkyj24:

I'm not yet positive on a lyme blood test(2 blood and 1 CSF tests were negative), but I had most symptoms listed on your other post. What struck me first, before more serious symptoms appeared, was the veins on my hands and arms! They looked like I was doing strenuous exercise while I was just using my arms normally! I did nothing about it at first...

But after 2 ER visits for more serious symptoms and a complete cardiac workup, angio, CAT-Scans, head MRIs, several consults with cardiologists, neurologists, gastro, endocrino,...

I also had a positive tilt table test (fainted). Hence, according to the cardio-electrophysiologist the diagnosis of some of my symptoms (palpitations, belching, lightheadedness & near fainting, headaches and some tingling) was that this is a vasovagal reaction due to limited blood volume, or depleted fluid volume and that explains the appearance of the veins. According to the Dr, depleted volume occurred over a long period of time as I'm a runner, biker and coffee/cola drinker. If both my hands look alike and I elevate one arm at heart's level, the veins are less prominent.

The cardio specialist then recommended a high salt (my kidneys were ok and have low b.p.) and fluid intake and told me that it might take a while to solve this vasovagal upset. The palpitations went away quickly so were the lightheadedness and headache symptoms. But, the blood pressure drop just when standing or when outside in the heat remained and became a major problem. I went from being a marathon runner, to running a max of 1 mile a month ago to barely standing up 2 minutes in the heat today. My guess is that there is still an underlying cause to all of that.

I see a LLMD in 2 weeks, perhaps I'll get lyme testing from the good labs this time.

I have had spider veins in my thighs since I was in High School, but now i have them in my calves. I have the appearance of varicose in the back of my knees and they hurt from time to time.

One of my students is a vascular surgeon and says that I am too young to have these especially since I have not had a child.

I also have low blood pressure and dizziness.

I never thought about Lyme causing this! Thanks for posting this.

I hear where you are coming from. I had a full workup and nothing came up from it except the tilt table test.

My doctor then refered me to Mayo, which I can't get in until the end of August. He thinks I may have pots.

I am glad I did more research myself and found a cause. I new there was something to this because of my other symptoms other than the low blood pressure and fainting.

I found out lyme can cause this, and since i live in endemic Wisconsin I wanted to go to an LLMD. The blood test from Igenex proved I have exposure on both the Igm and IGG Western blot.

Good luck with your searching and hope you find an LLMD and get tested. Keep us posted Nick.

Hey Dunkyj24 - I have been having similar issues with leg veins and also have a positive lyme diagnosis. Curious if you ever resolved your vein issues.

sometimes my veins stick out more

when I first got sick, a vein in particualr was so inflmaed, or whatever, so dark blue, sticking up and out, my friend said, ew, and she prior was always diplomatic, so from her reaction, I knew this was serious.

I feel like a sci fi freak, I use to love my body and hands, and now I try not to look at it

I am in a nightmare, praying, clawing, with inflmaed veins, trying to get out.

the symptoms, obscure things happening does not end for me yet, I dont know what all this is about.... Sad
