MDJunction to me

MissNikkiAnn"When you have an illness with the name "Non-Familial Dysautonomia" (a name that most people, and even doctors, have never heard of), you need a network
of people who understand the name and the symptoms/issues that come with it.
MDJunction led me to that network of people during a very confusing and sickly time. For this I am thankful. And for this reason I try my best to give back to other members the same care and help that I received through MDJunction.

My daughter has been off abx for 5 days after 9 months of zithro and cefdinir. She now has red bumps and clear blisters (poss rash?) on both her inner thighs. (doesn't itch and only largest blister hurts)

Her pediatrician thinks it may be viral warts. She also has a sore throat and had a 101 degree fever all day three days ago but he doesn't think they are related.

Anyone have this? Think it's lyme related? I thought she was finally done with her lyme and bartanella.

Love some feedback. thanks to all.

Hi,

It almost sounds like chicken pox or herpes zoster. How old is she and did she ever have the chicken pox?

Because Lyme lowers your immune system it is very common to have viral infections go wild.

My youngest has a viral infection that leads to cervical cancer which she has had treated once already.

Her pediatrician sent me to a dermotologist and he didn't know what they were either. He said they looked the most like herpes but she being 8 years old he really didn't think that's what they were. His best guess was that she had a virus (because of the fever and sore throat) and this is how it is coming out.

He put her on Valtrex to be on the safe side and we have to put Locoid (lowest dose steriod possible because of her lyme issue) on her blisters three times a day.

Checked about the Locoid with a friend of mine that has had lyme/babesia for three years now and is as close to an expert you can get and she said the locoid would be fine for her.

It definitely wasn't chicken pox (plus she was immuniz.long ago) and there is no pain so it's not shingles. I'm just praying this isn't lyme related and just some flukey virus thing.

Hi

You can still get the chicken pox even if your immunized. My daughter had them 2x. Shingles dont always hurt, they sometimes itch.

Thanks for all the responses. Whatever she had has gone away. Crazy thing. They didn't hurt or itch. They were just there. Hopefully they will not come back. Thank you again for all who responded.

hmmmm I have a question...These small red blisters being on the inner thighs....Do her legs rub together? It sounds like what I lived with as a kid.

My legs rubbed together though due to me being overweight...I always had small blisters there.

With Him we "live" no matter the circumstances. At His feet peace of mind can be found. Peace that passes all understanding is my quest now and forever.

look up pustular psoriasis.

I had this on my hands. Blisters, rash, flaking skin.

I went to a dermatologist and they were stunned as it is a rare form of psoriasis.

Mine appeared on the palms of my hands but it cam show up anywhere, especially since she has been on abx for so long...her immune system is suppressed.

Please look into pustular psoriais.

I will be following this discussion.

Much Love,

Sabado

Her legs do rub together since she's a little chubby but she's gotten heat rash there before and this didn't look anything like a heat rash. It also didn't look like pustular psoriasis. It was very separate hard red like pimples that then turned into blisters. I'll be getting her lab work back in the next couple of days and will keep everyone posted.

heat rash and chaffing are two different things. If she was particularly active and moving/walking more than usual or has recently gained some weight then she could have chaffed that area and wounded it. She continues to chaff when she walks and it keeps it from healing.

I recently saw a commercial for a chaff lotion that you can use that lubricates the legs so they will not rub but slide instead..Can't remember the name of it.

I sure wish I had a product like that when I was in marching band/camp....I chaffed so bad from marching that I literally had no skin there...It was a bloody mess for a week after taking a break from marching due to the chaffing itself...

It can become very serious if it gets infected.
