I had a red rash appear yesterday all over the top of my left hand yesterday...it came out of nowhere.

It was tiny little red dots and not bumpy but it was itchy and my hand became slightly swelled.

I put some hydrocortizone cream on my hand and it went away.

Is this a sign of a co-infection that is in my body that has not been treated?

It was strange and scared me because I have been feeling so bad (worse than usual) lately.

Do people with lyme still develope rashes from time to time?

Does this still happen to anyone else. I know that it was hives..because I have had hives from time to time since I was little and it wasn't hives.

They rash was not bumpy..just red dots and went away as soon as I put on the hyrdocortizone cream.

Maybe this is a sign that I really need to go and have some more specific tests done.

I will try and make another doc appointment today, or should I just wait for the doc appt that I have June 6th?

Much Love,

Sabado

Sabado,

What medications are you taking and what pharmaceutical company are they from?

my daughter had ALOT of problems with an itchy red rash on the top of both her hands. Her hands looked like she had "gloves" on. The rashes were sharply outlined. I posted pictures under my profile.

It's a long story, if you want to know more than what I wrote below, let me know.

We think her rashes were a reaction to an inactive ingredient called "Povidone" in the generic drugs she was taking (amitriptlyine back in December and hydroxychloroquine in april).

Both drugs are from a company named Wylan in West Virginia. Wylan has a good reputation. We think our daughter had a reaction to this ingredient.

Stopping the drugs stopped the rashes. The rash in December took about 8 weeks to resolve, but it had been going on for about a month and was REALLY BAD before we stopped it. It had turned from red itchy to angry red, excoriated, painful. She could not open or use her hands.

As soon as the rash appeared in April (within a day of starting hydroxychloroquine) we immediately stopped the med. It cleared up in about a day.

We purchased and now use the brand name drug Plaquinel; the rash did not return.

Over the past couple of months she's had odd little "rashes" appear on other parts of her body. None of them were like the rashes on the hands. They were more like 1 inch red patches or bruise colored circles. They appear and go away in a day or two. Some of them appeared while she and I were sitting talking at the dinner table. It was weird.

Hang in there!! This is the weirdest disease I have ever seen. It doesn't act like anything else.

Hugs and Support!!

Janet
