Give a Hug
Hi everybody. My dog is 4 years old, he's a Basset Hound and the vet says he's abnormally "old" for his age. His bones hurt, he's lethargic (he used to be such an active dog ), lost appetite (not even his favorite meat dish is interesting anymore), and he's not sick or anything, except for the pain, he's just... acting old.

He had lots of tick bites at his time, so I was wondering... is it possible for dogs to develop lyme as well?

YES, dogs/cats get lyme and/or co-infections of lyme. call and go to your vet; they can help but the sooner the better for them to be cured and/or helped as well. good luck! bettyg

Bettyg, do you know if it's also possible to get lyme from pets (bites, especially)?

Thanks.

yes, pets can get lyme just like us humans. if they are outdoors and come into contact with a tick that has lyme and/or co-infections!
