MDJunction to me

peasha"This has been one of the most supportive places I have ever been. I found MDJ by mistaking looking for drs to help me with my many health issues and since that day over a year ago I have found a tight nit little family that keeps me going when the times are tough and offers me a place of retreat to share my successes and failures with others. I get to see the humor and seriousness of what I experience as well as the resources to learn about my health conditions. Thanks MDJ" (peasha)

Can anyone tell me what this means from my MRI results

"revealed diffuse altered marrow syndrome, C3-4 & C 4-5 foraminial narrowing due to osteophytes on C2-3 and c3-4 facet arthropathy"

my neck has hurt really bad since this all started july 2007, not sure where to go from here, thanks for any help.

I didn't get any of the tests you mentioned, but I can tell you that I did have neck pain when I was diognosed with Lyme. When I relapsed the neck pain came right back.

I've had constant, chronic neck pain almost every day since October 1984, primarily on the left side.

I have no idea what MRI results mean, but without treatment which I am managing myself, I have debilitating neck pain, elbow pain (for which surgery has been suggested for years)knee pain so sharp that I have fallen at times just walking, finger, other joint pain. Fibro in part. I am now convinced also Lyme as it is better on meds, both antibiotics and natural. Keep asking ?????looking for answers... Nvrgiveup.

Stay away from anything with corn or corn syrup - corn causes inflammation. It's bad for us all and darn it, it's in EVERYTHING. Anyone with inflammation should just cut it out of their diets. I know, easier said than done.

I mentioned on other posts that I have had luck with Samento cutting my joint pain down. When I don't take it for a few days, I can see the difference. There are past posts on here about Samento - look for them if you haven't already been reading them.

I know what it's like to have terrible joint pain - I used to get so frustrated and almost lose it b/c of my pain!

I have been reading on this Forum for months. Have been reading about Samento. Have not bought it yet, simply because I read it was expensive. I am on REALLY tight budget. VERY excited about adding it to my "program". I find if I am off my antibiotics, even for a few days, not only joint pain, but illnesses of all sorts hit me. I will try anything at this point, slowly, safely, to try and get my life back. Hate the antibiotics, but they work for me, truly. Other things do as well. I think different things for different people depending on so many factors. Health, genetics, exposure, re-infections... so why not try one thing, if it doesn't work, try something else. Going ALL Pharms or ALL natural could limit certain individuals ability to recover from this insidious illness. Didn't know about corn syrup. Thanks... will watch that. nvrgiveup Smile

Thanx clayton72 we just bought some fresh cobs of sweet corn,I think i will stay away from it and let my daughter have it...very tempting stuff with butter dripping off it.And sunnisideup, if you possibly can please give Samento a try.It will be hard to figure out if its working or not at first because the die off makes the symptoms worse. But But...my joint pain , or better described as rheumatoid arthritis vanished in 2 weeks flat.I was so scared with twisted fingers...now i am so happy and confident with Samento now i feel like i am armed with a killer against Lyme

Hey there doublewhammy. I thought I'd throw out a few tidbits on your test results.

They say complicated things on the diagnosis, but they should have told you in layman's terms what they found. Let's see if I can help you understand it some.

C3-4 facet arthropathy: They are telling you that you have signs of arthritis between the 3rd and 4th cervical vertabrae, on the outside part of the vertabrae, facing away from your body. The joints between the posterior parts of your vertabrae are called facet joints.

Foraminial narrowing: The spaces where nerves leave your spinal cord are called the foraminial canals. An osteophyte is a bone spur. So what they are telling you is that you have bone spurs in the foraminial canals between your C3, 4 and 5 vertabrae.

Diffuse altered marrow syndrome: You may need to ask them about this, because it can be several things. Diffuse is just an adjective meaning spread out, altered marrow syndrome means your marrow does not follow the normal "pattern" of bone marrow, so to speak. Bone marrow looks like a sponge, if it were magnified so you could see between the fibers in the sponge. It is not solid, but you may have larger "gaps" in the bone marrow, which means it could be weak. If you see this in children, it can indicate malnourishment. I cannot tell you if it is osteoporosis or something like that, so like I said, ask your doctor...and really...ask him about all of this, and I'll tell you one of the more important reasons why....

They may be reading these things, but it could be mild, meaning not as bad as it sounds. However, it sounds very painful and my heart goes out to you for having these things on top of everything else.

Good luck with this and let me know what your doctor says about it.

Be well.

Tom
