I am a massage therapist and have been for over 12 years now. I would find someone who does good shiatsu or thai or tuina (chinese) massage. It is better for conditions like Lyme as it helps to relax the body while stimulating the healing system.

Regular oil massage and deep tissue work tends to sedate the system, especially the immune system and can release too much gunk into the system, often times too fast for someone who is already down and out.

If you were here, I'd get you in for an appt Smile While I love to do oil work and deep tissue (accounts for 50% of my sessions), I found that when I was really ill, the eastern forms of bodywork were much more beneficial. This is also what I hear from my many clients going through Lyme, FM, CFS, chemo, HIV, and the common cold.

Rubbing the right way,

Garret
