Hi everyone,

I know of a company in Florida that will provide IV meds and supplies at cost to lyme patients who do not have insurance or whose insurance refuses to pay. I also have a few names of Lyme Literate docs in Wisconsin. Please send me a private message if you would like this info.

There is also an infusion company in CA with similar pricing to the one in FL. Both are out of network for most insurances, so they won't be covered at full insurance rates. However, the 50% reimbursement rate for my insurance (Blue Cross) is pretty close to their charges, so it's almost 100% coverage. Both will bill insurance for you, so you don't have to do that yourself.

The biggest difference between the two is that the one in FL requires you to pay up front and then wait a few months for insurance reimbursement, where the one in CA bills insurance first with no up-front payment from you, so you may never have to pay anything out of pocket with them. I'm using the one in CA for this reason.

The only other thing to consider is how they package and ship. At first mine shipped premixed with cold packs, now they ship a full month at a time unmixed (no refrigeration required). They come with the vials of powder attached to the saline solution bag, so all you do is break the seal between the two (bend it), squish the saline into the vial of powder, shake to mix, then invert and squish the bag again to force air into the vial and thus the solution back into the bag. This makes it easier to store and travel, since there is no need to refrigerate until it is mixed. I believe FL only ships mixed, but I could be wrong.
